The February "Whatever" (and Graduates) Thread - Page 2

Hmm, I just went through my pregnancy journals from my last two dds and turns out I was wearing maternity at 10 weeks so I'm not too far off!! I also read that my HCG was 17,000 at 5w2d with dd2.....my HCG at 5w2d this time was only 110. WTH! Why didn't I get a positive until 15 dpo (and it was barely there---would be negative to anyone else) after spotting at 9 dpo???

DH made me call the midwife today to get another HCG and progesterone blood draw to make sure everything is okay before we spread the news to our parents and siblings. They don't get in until 11am so I'm not sure if they'll be willing to do it. I'm kinda worried too now! With DD2 I tested dark + at 12dpo and with DD3 at 9dpo. Why 15dpo this time? That's late! I know when I o'ed too so that's not off.

Katrina- I'm glad I'm not alone with these early maternity clothes!

JJ- how's your chart looking today? any O??

Kinder: Are you sure of your dates?  Can you post a chart link?

I want to see a chart too! I'm curious now.

I had a temp rise, but it wasn't a huge one. I had to adjust for an early wakeup, but I think that was it. We'll see how today goes (I haven't gone to bed yet...). I'm definately feeling post o type cramps, not o type pains.

Actually if I'm honest, eevry time I get a cramp or pain, I get a tiny bit giddy, and start over thinking, and then thinking 'sticky baby sticky baby sticky baby!'

those are good thoughts to think! my temp rise was very slight at first too; I didn't see a really good temp rise for a couple days (early implant maybe?) so fx! take it easy today

Kinder, every pregnancy is different, so I will keep fx that this is normal for you for this pregnancy.  No telling why you tested + later this time.

I know nausea is a good sign, but I am ready for it be over! (OTOH, it is a nice reminder until the movement starts)

I've been puking and nauseous since 5 weeks pg.  I'm 13w2d and STILL almost puked this morning.  I'm REALLY ready for it to be over!! mecry.gif It's such an emotional drain as well as a physical one.

JJ - a slow rise is still a rise!  I'm going to go look at your chart.  Hmm I don't have VIP anymore, can you post a chart link?

Kinder - I'm betting just a late implanter!  Sending good sticky bean thoughts your way!

Off to get my blood drawn----will update tomorrow. For those who want to check out my chart, of course this was the 2nd month I didn't take my temp every single day because I was frustrated but I did have a glaring positive OPK on day 11 as usual followed by O pain so I know my O day can't be off by more than a day!

What worries me the most is the positive I got at 15dpo was on a 10miu strip test! At 7dpo I felt implantation. It was so super low in my pelvis that I thought "wow, I've never felt this any other month that I've paid attention to every single twinge or cramp". It was that obvious but I still doubted I was pregnant, thinking it was all in my head. So, it took 9 days for it to show up on a test....doesn't make sense!

FYI my first blood + on 19dpo was 33.8

That's the chart. I wish it showed the comments. The 15th I have down for 'possible ew' since it was disguised, but it looked to be stretchy and slippery, and I also had possible o pains for that day. The open temp on CD14 was because I slept for 12 hours. CD15 I woke up early, and didn't adjust the temp. And then the last two days have been taken after sleeps of only about 3-4 hours, instead of 8-9 like normal. Tomorrow morning I get to wake up at a normal time, so we'll see what that one says, but I feel post-o.

I'm not looking forward to MS, especially since I don't want to tell anyone at work until we have to. It could be hard to hide that since I need permission every time I need to run to the washroom, and it's two floors away. :S

Kinder: I know it doesn't fit w/your CM, but what if you didn't O until CD 19, when you think you felt implantation.  What if that was O instead?  That would explain the hpts rather nicely.  It's reallyk impossible to know when you O'd w/out temp. confirmation.

JJ: Morning sickness is not a given!  Maybe you won't have any!

I'm fairly certain it was 12 dpo because it's been 11 or 12 dpo that last 3/4 of a year. Plus I always spot around ovulation and I had that too to back up the O pain and + OPK.

JJ: my BFP chart , I had the same sleep issues and had a slow rise

wish I had it figured out how to just post a picture of it.

FWIW: I really have only nausea, and that is easy for no one to notice.  (of course this is in addition to the exhaustion ans sore boobs . . . but only the exhaustion is noticeable and easily explained by an active toddler if I was wanting to keep things under wraps for a while)

update: midwife called and said my progesterone is up to 16.2 so that's great news! My HCG is 541 and doubled in 2.2 days! Woot! So all is well!!!!  We took a picture of our youngest in a "I'm going to be a big sister" shirt and we're putting it at the bottom of a pile of pictures we had printed for my parents. Hopefully they notice the shirt right away so it has the right effect!!! Good thing DD can't read or else this wouldn't have worked! lol  We decided DH is going to tell his family when he says grace at dinner one night when we have vacation with them in FL in 1.5 weeks. He's a minister so they always have him say it...... this should be funny and pretty shocking to them!!!!

JJ-stalking this thread for updates... fingersx.gif

Great news Kinder!

Temp rise again today, FF officially gave me CH for CD16, and I have BD on CD 10, 12, 14, and 15. We'll see what happens! It's too early to even really start getting excited, but at least the timing is good.

Sorry I haven't been on. I kept forgetting to check for the new thread. If I don't get email notifications, I forget everything.

Kinder ~ I would say that you didn't O until sometime between cd21 and 24. Midcycle spotting without a clear and sustained thermal shift is considered extremely fertile. That would explain the later than expected but very light hpts and the low hCG. I know that doesn't line up with everything you think but, frankly, you don't have any definitive info that supports when you think you Oed.

JJ ~ fingersx.gif for you.

AFM, I'm good. I got the 2nd trimester energy burst about a week ago. I didn't realize how bad I was feeling until it lifted. I feel better now than I did before I was pg at all. lol.gif I got my fetal doppler so I can check for baby's heartbeat whenever I start to freak out. It's given me a lot of peace. I'm a little annoyed with the MFM doc I've been going to for ultrasounds. He scheduled a fetal echocardiogram with my level II u/s without telling me. I've looked it up and don't see any need for that at all. I have to wait longer for the u/s to have the echo done. Whereas normally I could have a level II u/s anytime after 14 weeks, for the fetal echo I have to wait until 20 weeks or so (or at least that is what the doc's assistant told me). I'm going to decline the echo and try to reschedule my u/s for earlier. I might even be able to get it done before my dh deploys.

How could that be? I have gotten my AF on cycle day 26 or 27 for the last year that I've kept track and always between 25-27 days before that! I wish you were right because then my HCG would make perfect sense but I really think I o'ed on cd 12 as usual. I found some other charts today where women spot at 9 dpo (with a dip) and don't show a positive until 15-16 dpo.

Glad to hear you are feeling great!!! DH wants to rent a doppler. Which one did you get? Are you checking gender at your US?

JJ- YAY!!!!! Hope you two caught the egg!

Kinder ~ TCOYF says even the most regular women have an off cycle every once in a while. There's just no way to know for sure when you Oed without temps.

I didn't rent a doppler. I bought one. It's a lot cheaper. Rentals cost around $45 a month. I got this doppler: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sonoline-B-Fetal-heart-doppler-Backlight-LCD-3mhz-FDA-/230579634858?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35af9e02aa, Sonoline Fetal doppler, for a one time $58 payment. I own so when I'm done with it, I can sell it and recoup some of my money.

I am hoping to find out the gender at my next u/s. That's the one thing that has kept me from rescheduling it earlier right away. I read that at 17-19w it might be harder to get a definitive look.

What do you all think? I can't remember exactly when I had the u/ses with ds2 and 3. I was over 6 months when I had my u/s with ds1 but they were much less clear and detailed back then.
I'm in such a rush to find out the gender, too, but everything I read says 19-22 weeks is the best time to do the level II. Something also having to do with them looking at the babys other organs, the bladder, heart, kidneys, etc. I figure if I'm going to do the scan, might as well get the best detail of everything and what not. With nora at 18 wks, they couldn't tell me gender, but only bc the cord was between her legs.

Mw, are you feeling movement yet? I'm starting to feel little pokes and wiggles. We are affectionately calling this LO Baby Dino bc of all the meat cravings I'm having, though I'm staying vegetarian.
Yeah, Carrie, that's what I've been reading. I feel the same way. I don't want to go in too early and not be able to see if it's a boy or girl. Although, I'm sure with this doc we could come up with some reason for me to have another u/s. He has already recommended at least one more u/s, an extra biophysical profile, which is another u/s, and/or NSTs in the 3rd trimester. I declined all of that because I think it's unnecessary. He quoted a bunch of crap about me being AMA and more prone to developing GD because of the PCOS. I don't buy it. Unless there's something specifically wrong with me, I'm not worried about all of that.

Anyway, 19w is only a week earlier than the u/s I have scheduled already. I've already rescheduled once but only got it one business day (technically 3 days early since I changed it from a Monday to the Friday before) earlier. I can certainly use my decline of the fetal echo and that my dh is deploying as reasons to reschedule even earlier. I have to wait until dh goes to work next week (He was off all this week) to find out when he's leaving before I reschedule.

I was feeling it from about 10 1/2 to 12w or so, just little wiggly, flutters. Then it stopped for a couple of weeks. But I've been feeling more pronounced single pokes for about a week now. It's not gas because I've been feeling the gas bubbles, too. Oh, and remember when I was wondering where implantation was because I had felt those sharp pains on my right side the day before I got my first BFP? Well, that's where baby is. I can feel him/her there. My belly is noticeably lopsided, being harder and more rounded on the right side and that's where I always find the heartbeat. That's also where I've been feeling first the flutters and then the pokes, always to the right of center. Kind of cool to think that I may have actually felt exactly where baby implanted.

Kinder I agree with everyone else that you probably didn't O on CD12 but w/out temps it is basically impossible to figure out when you did exactly O. What we do know is that you had about a week between DTD so either you O'd around CD 14-16 or not until CD 22 with your next DTD. MW that's so cool that you can feel where the baby is! I still can't feel much going on when I palpate my abdomen except that it's firm! But I do feel pokes and jabs every once in a while. And I definitely feel like I have grown over the past week! I have two more weeks until my next appointment. I have my level II ultrasound scheduled for 22 weeks.
