Hi,
My son is almost 10 months and he was diagnosed with infant glaucoma yesterday. The doctor said he needs surgery right away and he is scheduled to have one in 2 days. Until yesterday I had no idea what glaucoma is, so you can imagine how shocking this news was to me. From what I read since yesterday and what doctor said,  surgery is the only way to fix him right away.. My concern is his future! I just want to know what I should expect. A lot of cases that I read said the baby had already developed vision problems and they couldn't see very well. I am not sure if that is my baby's case, since it seems like he can see things really well. He picks up every little thing and can recognize us from far.
The reason that we took him to the doctor was because he was very sensitive to the light. His pediatrician said we can wait until he is one to take him to the eye doctor; however I am so glad I didn't wait until then.
I would appreciate if anybody can tell me what should I expect for his future.. assuming the surgery goes well ( which I am SO hoping for) will he have a normal vision? What kind of complications should we   expect?                       Â
ThanksÂ
