reintroducing dairy

After a traumatic (for me) episode of "colic" from my EBF daughter, I cut dairy. It seems to have made a world of difference. But I made a few other changes at the same time (keeping her more upright during and after nursing, probiotics), so I need to reintroduce dairy to make sure that's it.

I'm having pizza for dinner. Is that enough, or should I eat dairy for a few meals? How fast does it travel from my tummy to my boobs to her tummy?

I really want to know if it's dairy, but I'm not looking forward to a crying baby!

how long has it been?

For me, my DS would react exactly 24 hours after I ingested dairy, and then for the next 72 hours after that. For him it was projectile vomiting during and after every feeding, if I even had a tiny bit of a roll that had dairy in it. So yes, I would think that some pizza would be enough. And just be prepared because it takes at least a few days to get back out of your system.

Thanks! I've been off dairy for just over two weeks.

I'm so not looking forward to this experiment! So far, she's just a little fussier than normal, but not enough to say for sure. I'll give it 24 hours.

If I can make a suggestion, I would try it as early in the day as possible.  That way you have an entire day to watch things and IF it were to cause a major (ana) issue, you would get to the ER easier and all that  Just a thought (and what we do for our allergic kids when trying something new).
