oh boy - name help?!

So I wasn't going to find out what we were having but my husband really wanted to know. Since he has so little control over anything else in the pregnancy, I found out. My 3rd boy! I had a girls name picked out and I am STUMPED for a boy! I had a hard enough time the first two times!

Help? Please! :)

Here's my list:

Nolan

Roland (his dads name, we'd like to incorporate it even as a middle name maybe)

Abbott

Silas

Calvin

Samson

Nicholas (but I don't like Nick as a nickname)

Liam (already leaning towards no)

Emerson (was on my list for my 1st son, my grandma hated it. She said it was appliance brand)

Alexander (but don't like Alex or Xander as a nickname!)

Any other ideas or thoughts either way on any of the names?
 

I'm REALLY stuck. I don't LOVE anything I'm seeing!

You could try nymbler.com. You can type in your "inspiration" names or your other kids names and it suggests stuff you might like. I like all your names though Emerson is popular with girls nowadays and I would hate to be a boy with a girl in my class with the same name as me. But idk how much that matters.

I met a really sweet Silas last summer, so I like that best. Since I am in Austria we have different popular names and here they are:

I like Silas and Liam and I think either would go well with your other boys' names.  If you don't like a nickname I'd be careful about using the name at all, people tend to shorten names no matter what the parents call him.  Why is it that boy names are so much harder to come up with?  We aren't going to find out the gender but I hope it's a girl cuz we don't have any boy names picked out!

To the OP: my vote is Silas Roland. You could also wait until you see him to see which name fits! Your list is not too long for that.

That's sort of what I'm leaning towards too. I usually end up waiting until after my babies are born to name them - but each time I still go through and make these lists and drive myself crazy, just to come up with something totally different after! :)

Yeah, my husband pointed out that Colin and Calvin are awfully similar - oops! And I've heard the Emerson/girl thing a few times too - boo :(

I sort of keep hoping that suddenly a name I love will appear to me out of nowhere haha.

Boys names are just so hard I think.

oh, and DH voted out Alex, which stinks cause I love it. I'm not sure why - I don't tend to go for unusual names, but this is the first time I've been drawn to such a common name. I just really like it.

Maybe Emery or Emory instead of Emerson?  Over the summer, we met a really cute 2 year old boy named Emory.

Emory Alex...(if you don't stick with the Ts, and your DH doesn't mind Alex for a middle)

If you are looking for an "Em" name, how about Emmett?  My husband keeps bringing that one up, so it is definitely on our list.  But I do really like Silas too, so I think I'm going to swipe that one for our list!  I think boys names are much much harder.  Not sure why.  If this baby had been a girl, we'd be naming her Scarlett.  Oh well.  That'll never do for a boy!

I've got Emmett on our updated list although DH has sort of vetoed it (Emmett Otter) psh. I've also added Nolan and Logan (though those names rule out Roland for a middle name)

I went on nymbler and got some good names. Emmerson is a cool name. I know a girl who they call Immi. her name is Immogen I think which sounds like Emmerson. my favorites now are Toby and Fernlee.
