Iron is inhibited by lead (and perhaps vice versa). So most babies wtih high lead will have low iron unfortunately. But iron doesn't remove existing lead. I'd do ferrous bis-glycinate iron for the baby if she can. I think there is a liquid form maxi-iron. I use solgar gentle iron for my son--pear sauce, iron powder from capsule and vitamin C, pear sauce.
But a very good thing for lead removal (and prevention of additional) would be vitamin C. I would give it to bowel tolerance in this case myself (dose up to the point where it gives loose stools and back just down to where it doesn't...so you get the maximum he can take without loose stools). Spread vitamin C doses throughout the day. This will be encouraging I think (note: vitamin C without extra calcium in this study...)

We use VRP Vitamin Research Products (VRP) brand of that and, again, it is in capsule form but i just dump on pear sauce.
She will want to find where that lead is coming from--does she know? Frequent handwashing, wet wiping potential lead dust (there are protocols online for that), testing water, etc. He's not, in my understanding, at the peak age in terms of how high his lead will go so I hope they are going to help her find the lead source and eliminate it from the environment.
