How does he keep getting away with not paying cs?

I just went to court yesterday with exh.This is the 6th or 7th time,and nothing is being done.He owes about $15,000.This time he did agree to go into rehab(he's an alcoholic),if he doesn't or doesnt have proof of being on a waiting list by March 22nd,our next court date, he will go to jail.He says he's looking for a job,but 3 years of no call backs?Except one,Target,but he failed the drug test.I know that jobs are very hard to find,but there has to be something,anything.Flipping burgers would be great!I'm not looking for a lot of money from him,just something,yk?The kids deserve it.

Oh, tell me about it! My XH owes over $13,000. The child support laws really should be tougher.

My XH just quit his job yesterday in order to avoid paying CS...or maybe he just *said* he quit his job and he is being paid under the table...or he plans on going on unemployment...but whatever the strategy, he is doing whatever he can to avoid paying.

My first ex would work at a job until child support recovery caught up with him, then quit and get a new one.  It was SO frustrating.  The only times I ever received child support from him was at tax time, when they'd take his state return.

Just wanted to chime in as a member of the deadbeat ex husband club. Mine owes around $20,000 in child support and medical bills.

 My XH doesn't know HOW to file his taxes (I always did it for him, being the wonderful enabler that I was), so I don't think I'll ever get his return...plus he owes 10K or more to his 3rd babymama, so his federal tax return goes to her...

When my ex lost his job I got his child support through unemployment.  I thought it would be lowered based on the percentage for my state, but it was the same amount as it was at his previous job.  Appearently he would have to petition the court to have it lowered based on his amount of unemployment.  Lucky for me he never actually read the court agreement.  But now that he is employed again his employer isn't responding to requests to remove cs from his paychecks and I haven't received anything for over 6 months.  :(
