Formula suggestions...just in case

My DD is 8 months old and I've been exclusively breastfeeding her this whole time. I've only recently started introducing solid foods due to me having tons of food allergies and not wanting her to develop them as well by introducing solids too early. She now needs more milk than I can produce at the moment, so that's why we're now introducing solids. Also, she is very interested in our food when she sees us eating. Another dilemma for me is I have to go on a business trip at the beginning of April for four days. I have been trying to pump enough for bottles while I'm gone, but I'm only able to pump enough for bottles for the following day. This weekend I will be trying a "nursing and pumping vacation" all day Saturday to see if I can increase milk production. I've not wanted to think about supplementing with formula, but if I absolutely have to as a last resort, does anyone have any suggestions on a good organic formula?

I don't have any suggestions for formula, but I do have a few other ideas for you.

Could you pump every night after she goes down for the night between now and your business trip so that you will have enough for her while you're gone?  Do you have any friends that are currently nursing who would be willing to donate some to your supply?  If neither of those is an option, you may want to try Eats on Feets on Facebook to see if there's anyone in your area willing to donate some breastmilk to you.

I've had a few friends that have switched to formula feeding and it often takes a lot of trial and error to figure one out that baby will take and tolerate, so finding breastmilk may be worth it.

I don't have any suggestions on organic pre-made formula however I support the PP thoughts but I feel it would be important to find donated milk from a person that shares your ideals of diet.

If you have to supplement... I would suggest making your own formula.  The organic ones are even a bit freaky, to me.. just my opinion.

If the raw parts are not comfortable for you, can always use pasteurized and homogenized.  It is at least something you have made vs. processed.

Thank you both for your suggestions! I really appreciate it! I think my supply has increased a little. I was able to get enough for an extra bottle yesterday, so I now have two bottles' worth in the freezer...still have a long way to go, but it's a start. I'm going to first try pumping after she goes down for the night as CrunchyChristianMama suggested and see what I get from that. Thanks again!

So glad to hear your supply is on the up!  Try not to over think it, hard to do but try and hopefully more will come!

Good luck to you!
