What do you do with palm oil?

I bought 1/2 gallon through my co-op, and can't figure out what to do with it.  Is it like coconut oil, or totally different in flavor?  Should I plan to bake with it?  Thanks!

I use it for anything that I'd use another oil or fat for. I bake with it, I use it as a base for sauteeing or frying or making sauces, I use it to season cast iron pans, I use it to add extra fat to lean meat so it doesn't dry out. Anything at all, really.

What kind do you have? The refined palm oil (like Spectrum shortening) really HAS no flavor or odor, so it goes seamlessly with anything. Unrefined palm oil will have a more pronounced flavor and smell, so you'll have to try it and see what you like it with.

I'm pretty sure it's refined.  TBH, it's been awhile since I looked at the label, since I bought it several months ago.  It's just now that I'm almost out of CO that I'm thinking about how to use it.  So, you pretty much use it in everything with no strange flavors or anything?
