Teething? Pregnant? Sore nipples and late period - help! uPDATE

So dd will be a year next week and is still an avid nurser. Recently, my nipples have become very tender while nursing, especially at night. I first thought it could be latch issues with her new top teeth but now my period is also 10 ish days late after 9 months of coming regularly. I took a digital pregnancy test a few days ago that was negative and am waiting a few days to take another one. With dd, I started barfing from day one but no other pregnancy signs now that I'm aware of.

What's your experience been like with nipple tenderness, either with top teeth coming in or as a sign of pregnancy? Or what about your cycle suddenly becoming irregular while nursing?

I have the same thing. I'm heading off to the doctor to see if she thinks it's thrush (I don't have all symptoms, including the shooting pain). I doubt I'm pregnant, although it's possible. Watching this thread to see what people come up with.

Not pregnant, got my period. I talked to my obgyn who suspects the wacky cycle is related to the gallbladder problems I've been having. I spoke to an LC about teething issues and she recommended 1) giving dd something cold to chew on before nursing so she doesn't feel the need to gnaw 2) pump and bottle feed if really sore (bc dd is almost 1 year old and fine switching between the two) and 3) having dd nurse kneeling on top of my while I'm on my back. This last one has been a super help. The position forces her to do business only. Hth anyone.
