Having problems submitting replies...

...I've had a whole host of problems with the reply box but most of them seem easy to work around... However, when I try to actually submit a reply, very often it gets hung up on the "Please wait..." lightbox and just never actually submits. This is after I've just typed a long response to someone, and the response gets lost, so it's very frustrating. 

I'm usually connected through a proxy so my connection is a little slow... when I'm able to connect normally I very rarely have this issue unless my connection drops suddenly or something. So I know it's more of a problem on my end but because of the lightbox I'm not able to copy my response before refreshing the page & trying again, so I end up giving up and not responding. It happens about 10-30% of the time, depending how slow my network is at any given time.

ETA: I think if I had the ability to 'cancel' a submission that would solve the problem....

Yes, I know that's very frustrating, and I agree that a Cancel feature would be helpful. I will definitely make that feature request. It sounds like it might be a combination of a slow connection and browser concern. Can you let me know what version of browser and operating system you are using? As far as your workarounds with the reply box that you'd mentioned, have you tried the BB Code editor? It's supposed to be much "lighter" in terms of being faster for your browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome) to deal with. I'm really sorry that you're encountering difficulties because we want to see your replies!

I did not know the BB Code editor was an option! Just switched to that, thanks!

I usually use Chrome or Firefox. One of my computers is Vista & the other is Windows 7 (which is also the one I connect through a proxy & the one I most often have the submitting problem, although it's happened on both).

Well it's happening to pretty much every thread when it happens.... i.e. this morning, it happened with almost every thread I replied (or tried to reply) to because my connection was slow. As an example though, here's one of the ones I had trouble with today (I had to reload the page several times & paste in my reply and then submit & it FINALLY went through): http://www.mothering.com/community/forum/thread/1297178/where-can-i-get-some-help-parenting-this-17month-boy-someone-i-can-talk-to#post_16252218

ETA: The reply above, from 2/3/11 -- I had the same issue submitting that reply as well.
