5 weeks pg, slipped and fell on ice

A couple hours ago I slipped on ice and fell hard on my left side. My hip took the brunt of it, and my arm a little. I'm 5 weeks pregnant. Anyone want to offer me some reassurance that this shouldn't affect my little eggie?

Well, I fell on the ice at 22 weeks and hit my kidney pretty hard. The little bean is still in there and kicking up a storm. I'd think you'd be fine!

no question that it's fine. 

even when visibly pregnant, the baby is so well protected. i think i've heard that it has to be literally car-crash intensity impact to even start to worry.

At 5 weeks your baby is still a) inside your pubic bone (in your uterus, obviously) and b) so small it may not be possible to see it on an ultrasound.  It's fine.  I swear.

That babe is safer than you are.  Unless your pubic bone is shattered, nothing's gonna touch it at this stage.

baby is fine!  i've slipped on ice at various stages of pregnancy, not to mention that my kids regular seem to jump on my belly by accident and baby is just fine!

I fell down cement stairs when I was 5 months pregnant with ds - my ob said "well, it's good that he's in such a safe spot!"

Don't stress about it - hope the bruises heal fast.

I agree with everyone.  My cousin just slipped on ice and fell hard enough to break her arm...baby is totally fine though.

Thanks for all the reassurance! I am pretty stiff and sore today but haven't had any bleeding or anything else to cause me concern. I appreciate all the comforting stories!!
