What is the shortest Luteal Phase you had and positive preg?

Ok...so we are TTC. This is the first cycle and I am on DPO 10 and have ligh pink spotting. OPK was positive on day 13 and BBT indicate that I ovulated around day 14. My cycles are usally only 24 or 26 days...I have even have had one recently that was 22 days.  So what is the shortest luteal phase some of you have had and still had a viable pregnancy?

10 days is all I need... after three miscarriages with the same length LP I had a term pregnancy. Now I'm hoping for another (I'm 8 weeks and counting)

You should post this in TTC...

I'm 18 weeks into my second pregnancy with cycles just like you describe :) My cycles with DD were 23/24 days, O'd around day 14 with her. This time was pretty much the same.

Thank you ladies. Anyone else? It would be great to know. I am DPO 11 now and still light spotting I mean most of the time nothing when I wipe and then if there is some thing it is very small and light pink. I took a HPT yesterday at 3pm (DPO 10) and it was neg and today (DPO 11) first urine and still neg.  I had very tender breast almost this whole time after ovulation and it seems to be tapering off though; however my BBT jumped this morning by .2 degrees.  Sigh....I was pregnant one other time but it was a blighted ovum and the only real symptom I had was tender breast. That was a little over a year ago and this was the first month of us TTC. I guess like all women TTC I want it sooner than later and it is hard to wait.

I don't think it counts as a luteal phase if you get pregnant that cycle. Are you wondering how long until a positive preg test? Or how long people's luteal phases were on cycles prior to getting pregnant?

I had implantation spotting on 12/13DPO with this one. On the one previous cycle I charted my luteal phase was only about 10 days, but I have no idea if that is an average for me (though I suspect it might be--my cycles were always short).

I normally have shortish LPs (10-11 days). I had no trouble getting pregnant with that length LP when we were TTC #1.  I am still breastfeeding my toddler, and when DH and I were TTC this summer, my LPs were super-short--like I'd start spotting by day 5 and be full on by 7 DPO. I got Rx progesterone, which bought me an extra couple of days before I started spotting. My longest LP during those months was about 8-9 days. I had (probably) 2 chemical pregnancies during that period. I got super-faint--visible to only pee stick eyes--at 8 DPO, but the spotting started that same day, and I lost both of those. DH and I quit trying in Sept, and I stopped temping but charted my secondary signs. I also stopped taking the progesterone since I wasn't trying to get pregnant anymore, and my LPs were only 3-5 days long. Figured there was NO WAY in the WORLD I'd get pregnant with that going on, so we did not take precautions during my fertile period in December, and about 5 DPO, I was shocked to notice no spotting.......very suspicious when AF had not arrived by 8 DPO, tested, and sure enough, a super-faint positive that just got stronger and stronger. So, all that to say, your LP doesn't have to be too long.  You just need enough progesterone in any given month to do the job, as it turns out! (I think in my case going for 18 hours during a cross-country Christmas drive without nursing caused enough of an increase in progesterone to make implantation & sustaining a pregnancy possible.) Good luck!

I have 9 day lp, so super short.  I didn't get a positive test with either dd until 12 or 13 dpo, so 3-4 days past my normal period start date.  I knew before positive tests because of this.

Thank you ladies this is very helpful! This is my 3rd day of spotting only very light pink and not every time when I wipe.  Of those women who did have implantation bleeding how long did it last? Did you have light spotting a few days and still a BFP? Or was it always just one day?  With my first pregnancy I had one wipe of darn brown implantation bleeding and tested positive the next day.  I really don't believe I am pregnant this cycle sigh but my cycle is being a little abnormal. Normally I would spot one day before and be full on the next day. My last few cycles for the past 4 months have been 22-24 days. If you look at the whole year, besides for right after the blighted ovum, the majority of my cycles have been 24 days with a few 26 and 22 thrown in the mix so they would all avg out to a 24day cycle.  Anyway...I have no clue why I typed all that information and I worked to hard on it to backspace..LOL! I tested this morning first urine (dpo 12) and BFN. My test picks up 25mg HCG or more...does anyone know of a test that picks up less? Thank you ladies very much.

I had a 4-6 day LP with my last two pregnancies (before that maybe it was 8-10 days).  Last time I had a faint + HPT on day 6 when I didn't get my period, and this time we weren't trying and I had a very clearly + hpt on what appears to be day 9, when I was 3 days late.

So glad I found this thread!  I had surgery a few months ago and have had a 10 day LP for the last 2 months (was always 14 before surgery). My cycles are longer (+2-4 days), but I'm ovulating later than I was before. Next month we are TTC, and I was thinking with such a short LP I might have a hard time.  glad to hear there can be success!

Well I started my period today I knew I was going to start b/c there was a .6 drop in my BBT.  My luteal phase ended up being 12 days if you don't count the days I spotted if you count the days I spotted it was 9 days.  Here is to trying again next month! :-) Thank you ladies for all the great info! I am sure I will be back! By the way should you count the days that you spot in your luteal phase?

Fertility Friend (the software I use to chart) says not to count spotting as AF, so it would be in your LP count. I don't know if I buy FF's opinion on that one though since for those of us who spot regularly before we start, it seems to signal that the endometrial lining is already on the way out, and not hospitable to implantation.

My LPs varied, but were usually around 10 days (but had been as short as 7! and as long as 12). Got pregnant first cycle all three times we TTCed and have never had a loss. My HPTs usually showed BFP around...9 or 10 DPO? (Hard to remember...)

I've always had a short luteal phase and irregular cycles. I usually ovulate around the 13th or 14th day, but then spotting would start anywhere from 8 to 11 days DPO and my period would last over a week.I thought it would be a problem to get pregnant but it wasn't at all. I had implantation bleeding early (from around 6 DPO to 13DPO.) At first I figured early spotting with AF, since is isn't unusual to come so early.  But it remained constant on toilet paper, and went from pink to brown.  The brown was really brown, and that's when I started getting excited because it didn't look familiar. At a few times it was even red like a period and I was concerned it was AF. My cheap pregnancy tests didn't show ANYTHING until like 16 DPO, and even now at at 18DPO they show a faint line. Fortunately, I had I 2 First Response tests and actually got a very faint line around 10DP and now it is strong.
