Can ricotta cheese be frozen?

My local grocery store has a good price on ricotta cheese, which I tend to use a fair amount of (ricotta muffins, lasagna, etc.).  I don't know if it's OK to freeze ricotta?  Does it freeze well, lose taste/texture?  I'd love to stock up.

I froze some for a few months and then thawed/used it in lasagna without noticing any difference in taste or texture.

I've frozen it before. One time I remember that it had kind of separated a bit. There was some liquid at the top that I guess was whey. I just poured that off, and used it, and it was fine. Just like fresh.
