Tax return time! - Page 2

With federal and state combined, we're getting a little over $3000. We'll be paying for our home birth in full and setting the rest aside for our spring bulk meat order and a car seat for the new baby. Whatever is left over will probably be used to pay some medical bills that we accumulated over the weekend from going to the ER w/ DS2.

Now that we have a new "deduction" coming in April, we'll be changing our withholding AGAIN so we get more throughout the year.

Paying off one loan and a CC, the rest to savings. Can't wait for Friday! (I think that's when we will get it).

We haven't filed yet as DH seems to think we are missing some paperwork. Hopefully it will be BIG - we have a second child and both of us didn't work for part of the year due to that. We have MAJOR roof repairs that are done (on the outside) that need to be paid. I still need to receive the carpentry bill. I have the roof bill. Then we need to have it painted and we need major plaster repair in 2 rooms from the roof damage. We will still refinance and take some equity out to do the repairs. This kills me!  I'll be SO glad to put this behind us. We'll also contribute something to Roth IRAs but I'm not sure how much, yet.

Just realized that I will have around $500 left over after paying off ALL of my credit cards!  Woo Hoo!!!!  I will only have student loan debt and will have a smallish emergency fund.  So happy.  :)

We are putting about half of it toward car payments. It won't pay off our car but will reduce the amount left so maybe by next year we will have it paid off.

We are going to buy dd a new bed and mattress.

We are going to get a new bathroom sink.

Dh and I will probably buy a couple of things for ourselves.

Anything left will go into savings.

The IRS will begin taking returns on Monday, 2/14 for those needing to file a Schedule A.  :)

We have a loan to pay off, and the rest will go to 2 small cc debts. We're also buying a new door for our sunroom.

Yeah, I filed our taxes with Turbo Tax and it let me fill them out, but said that they won't be sent until 2/14, stinks because I would have had my tax return already...

Ah, ok. I'm using the free file fillable forms (say that ten times fast orngtongue.gif) and the form is not available yet.

We got our refund already and bought a new chest freezer and dh and I got wedding rings

I am so frustrated that schedule A was delayed. Dh has been out of work since August, and with our income so drastically reduced, I know we will have a decent NEEDED refund this year. But since I am a teacher and take that deduction, and we itemize, I had to wait. Thanks for the info that it will be ready Monday. I will start inputting info this weekend!

awwww, that's awesome!  I was toying with the idea of replacing my engagement ring, but don't think that's possible yet.  I love that you did this though!  Do you have pics?

I don't have pics yet, because they are being made for us. We will have them in a couple weeks. I have a thread in TAO with a link to the site we got them from though.

I got my state refund yesterday and didn't even realize it!  I use online banking and hadn't checked it in a few days, and wasn't expecting either my state or federal refund until much later this month.  I was so surprised and happy!  Paid off two smaller credit cards already!  Woo Hoo!

Psyched to squirrel mine away until baby comes. I'll begin TTC my first in September and being able to drop a big deposit in my savings will feel so good!
