Would you sell or donate?

My oldest DD is at the point that she's outgrown her Britax Marathon. Knowing when I purchased it, without uninstalling it from the car, it was manufactured in late 06 or early 07. So at the least it's got 18 months and at the most 2 years before it expires. Would you consider selling it or donating it to a family who could use it? I know that I could find a home for it very quickly. I would make sure that whomever it went to understood the expiration date and the reasoning behind it. What would you do?

I don't need it for DD2. She has her own.

I've sold seats before on Craigslist.  I would never BUY a used seat, because I couldn't trust the history of it.  (Had it been dropped?  Checked as baggage on a plane?  Straps soaked in water or sprayed with harsh cleaners?).  However, I certainly don't feel it's unethical to sell a used seat, assuming it truly is in excellent condition. In fact, knowing how many unsafe seats are on CL at any one time, someone would be lucky to find a seat from a caring seller like you!  I would make sure to include the manual, talk to them about the expiration date, give them the contact info for Britax so that they can re-register the seat in their name in case of a recall, etc.  Sometimes I have even give buyers the contact info for a local car seat check place staffed with CPST's.  Then they have all the info they need to learn how to use the seat safely.  The rest is up to them.
