ASAP Help Is Needed With A Choo-Choo Cake

so my son's bday party is tomorrow and im having difficulties with his choo choo cake. ive bought a cake pan in the form of a train and it seemed pretty self explanatory. the instructions recommended using a recipe for a pound cake which i did. but the problem is that ive made to batches and its not working well. the pan consists of 2 parts and you feel one up with batter, snap the other one on and bake it. the thing is that the batter won't rise enough so my train has two unequal parts. ive made 2 batches. help.

we live at high elevation (about 7500 feet) so maybe that has something to do with it. any advice will be appreciated.

Does the pan directions say how many cups of batter should be going into the pan?  I found that tidbit to be extremely helpful when making a formed cake.  If you're using the correct amount and it's still not working, I'd increase the amount.

well, it said to fill to the brim which is what i did and then the other half goes on top... what i ended up doing is baking the cake in both pans rather than pouring it into one and covering with the other, and then just cut the excess off on top and it worked. yay.
