We just found out the two children (non-vaxed siblings) at my ds's preschool have pertussis.  They have been sick for over 8 weeks, but have just now gone to the doctor and have just been diagnosed.  These children have been going to school this entire time except for a few days here and there.

My kids had a nasty stomach bug about a month ago, and have had cold like symptoms off and on since then.  About two days ago, ds1 has started coughing really badly and has a low grade fever.  Starting this morning, ds2 has started coughing as well but does not have a fever.

Of course it is Sunday so my doctor's office is closed.  I'd really like to take them in to get tested for pertussis.  Should I wait until tomorrow or should I take them to the ER to get tested today?  I'm kind of freaking out a little, but I don't want to over react.  Since the kids at ds's school have had this for so long already, wouldn't my kids have already been really sick by now if they had it?  My kids are both vaccinated against pertussis...ds1 is fully vaxed against it, and ds2 has had 2 doses.  I know that even though they are vaccinated, they could still get a milder version.

Anyway, and advice would be greatly appreciated.  I hope this makes sense...I've had a ton of distractions while trying to type this out :)
