treating UTI without antiobiotics?

Hello, since I had DD (12 weeks ago) I have been having to urinate very frequently but haven't had any burning or pain that I would usually associate with an UTI.  Yesterday I ran a UA on myself (I'm a vet tech) and it would appear I have a moderate urinary tract infection.  I really want to avoid antibiotics if I can... is there something else I can do to treat it?  I have been taking garlic, is there anything else I could try?  I still have no pain or burning, just frequent urges.  TIA!!!

Cranberry! Get juice (the real stuff—100% cranberry) and drink at least one BIG glass a day. It tastes awful, IMO, but it has knocked out UTIs very quickly for me. You can also get cranberry pills at most drug stores or large grocery stores.

You can also get it concentrated in capsule form. Drink lots of water. Pee after sex.

uva ursi tea, lemon/ lime water, you can water down the 100% cranberry juice to make it easier to drink, dandy lion root tea, lots of vit C (like 6000mg/ day), echinacea, goldenseal

don't eat sugar... including fruit, tomatoes, honey, white bread/ pasta

boost your immune system by getting lots of rest (haha, i know it's hard), eating well, and taking a multivitamin

check out Susun Weed's website, she's the expert on this stuff: http://www.susunweed.com/herbal_ezine/February08/childbearing.htm

Thanks for all the suggestions!  Would the cranberry pills be OK to take while nursing, in your opinions?
