Help cutting back nursing 13mo

Hello everyone!  My 13.5 month old DD nurses all day and night long.  When she eats more solids, she nurses less- but she prefers nursing.  Any advice about how to get her to eat more solids and cut back nursing?  I was thinking of having set nursing times.  She has no set mealtimes (actually, we all just graze here).

My concern is that she hasn't really gained any weight.   She's been hovering aroun 19ish lbs since October (10 months old).  We saw her doctor for a WBV at 12 months, and again a little bit later for an unrelated issue.  Weight wasn't brought up during these appointments though.  She sees her doctor (family doc) again at 15mos, and if she hasn't gained weight by then, I'm going to be really worried.  I know growth slows down around now, but she hasn't gained  weight in about 3.5 months!  She looks a smidge taller, but it must be in her legs.  She is currently wearing a onesie that she wore at 8 months old :(

I'd love for her to eat more.  I'm guessing that cutting back nursing is the only way to do this.  She is NOT a picky eater and will eat whatever is put in front of her... IF she is hungry.  She drinks water from a cup just fine.  I'm not looking to do any milk replacements, just add more solids and cut a bit of the nursing, if that makes sense.

I feel so lost- I have one child who eats far too much and one who eats hardly anything at all :(

are you offering solids BEFORE each nursing?

yes, but since she nurses constantly... she's never really hungry enough to eat anything significant.

My son was like that.  I set times for nursing and it let him actually get hungry and get on a more manageable schedule.

It seems many babies are not really interested in solids until 15-18 months, maybe it is still early for her.

It's working!  She had a FULL meal today.  Yay!

Nutritionally there's probably no need for more solids (it probably has more fat and calories than most foods you give her, unless she's eating all avacados :) ), but if your personal preference is to cut back a bit on nursing that's OK to do too. Just keep her busy and don't sit down in a "nursing spot" during the stretches of time you would like to avoid nursing.

Thanks!  I'm just so concerned that she hasn't gained weight :(  My diet hasn't been the best so I'm also worried my milk isn't as up-to-par as it should be.  Either way she nurses pretty much all night long and about 3-4x/day now, which I think is a good balance.  Before it was just nonstop nursing, really.
