Do you actually see clear mucous or is the texture of the poop like mucous?
DD has been having really bad gas and tummy issues. Her poop isn't green, but it is kind of stretchy.
From my experience mucus can look like strings when you press the diaper together or like someone blew their nose and there is a big loogie. We had both. Although when I asked my midwife at dd2's one week? appt. what those strings were she said they were just poop and not mucus. When I asked my holistic ped later in the week, she said any strings were definitely mucus, but that most drs. would disagree. All dd had for 8? months was juice and mucus. It was definitely noticeable for us.
Yup to that. I used to wonder as well with ds1 becasue he had milk allergy. Then ds2 came along and HE had the muscus in poop along with digestive issues and poor growth. His was like one big lump of mucus, no mistaking it. Translucent and milky and looked like gloop.
Bad gas and tummy issues are enough for concern without the mucus (urgh). I can always tell when ds2 ate something disagreeable because he would be having bad gas all day and in his sleep, followed by loose stools. It usually clear up in a couple of days' time if we adjust his diet. Recently I retrialed milk with him and after two happy days, he was going to the toilet every 4 hours and farting through the day so we're cutting it out again.
