maternity support belt recommendations?

Hello---

i am 28 weeks pregnant with my second child and am wondering it anyone has had any luck wearing a pregnancy belt of some kind.   i have an ache in my tail-bone/pelvis, especially after a walk or carrying groceries and am looking for something to ease the discomfort.  also, i feel like i am carrying the baby "lower" this time around, so general belly support may help.  i've heard that some brands of support belts are better than others, so if you have a specific one that worked for you, please let me know.  also, has anyone had any luck with chiropractic adjustment or other forms of bodywork during pregnancy that have helped ease discomfort?  i'd like to be taking more walks, but as it stands now, the subsequent pain doesn't make it appealing!   thanks so much----------

I've had amazing success with chiropractic care this time. My chiro deals specifically with pregnant women and children, and is Webster certified. In both of my other pregnancies, my hips/pelvis hurt so bad that I was practically crippled (by the time I was 12-16 weeks!). This time I've gotten regular chiro care and my hips don't hurt at all!

I would seek out a chiropractor first, and then ask their opinion about the maternity belt. I know mine doesn't generally recommend them because they keep things from moving like they need to for baby positioning and whatnot, so she says if you do use one, to use it as sparingly as possible...

I bought one from Motherhood Maternity many pregnancies ago.  I get SPD with my pregnancies and cannot walk past 34 weeks without a maternity belt.  It was like $15.  I never had a problem with any of the babies not engaging/bad positioning etc.

I actually have a sacro belt instead and that makes a very big difference at the end of the day if Im going to be out and about a lot

my leg press (I lift weights) actually went up 75 lbs by just using the sacro belt alone so I know my pelvis is very unstable right now

I also bought a book written by a dutch physiologist that gives a lot of very different advice for pelvic instability than the advice you usually hear and its helped a lot.

for belly weight...Ive honestly never had a problem but I would think that something like what medela sells would be sufficient

really my lower abs are so strong that even though this is my fourth theyre really holding me up and in pretty well ...upper abs different story...lol

oh...I wanted to add...the sacro belt is made by serola and is very easy to use/adjust and comfortable to wear
