I discovered a fascinating blog today... some of you may already be aware of it, but it was new to me, so I figured I would pass along the info in case anyone else might be interested in looking into it.

Kristin Michaelis (homeschool Mom, holistic nutrition coach, professional writer, and Real Food blogger) has created a curriculum geared to ages 12+, I think she is specifically targeting homeschoolers, but I'm thinking of several ways that this could be used in different settings to help our children understand the difference between "food" and "nutrients."
If you don't want to pay the $100+ to take her online e-course (with video instruction, written assignments, etc.), the 11-chapter book is available as a stand-alone resource. ($19.95 as a downloadable PDF file or $29.95 printed format.)
She describes the book as: "inspired by the same love of wholesome, traditional foods that you find in the cookbook Nourishing Traditions, the work of Weston A. Price, the Slow Food movement, and farmer's markets" and "a renegade look at nutrition based on a diet of whole, organic, and local foods grown, prepared, and eaten according to traditional food ways."

On her Vimeo (video) site, there is a very well-done 18 minute video on Good Fats/Bad Fats, as well as a few other shorter ones.
