What would Dr. Sears say about DTaP schedule, when first one given to 3 year old?

My almost 3 year old son has not had any vaccines as of yet, we are looking into starting the DTap but I am unsure how many shots we may need.Any help is appreciated!

I"m interested in what he would say too.

That being said, DD,age 3 has just started the dtap series. She has had 2 so far. I had them given 2months apart even though the CDC catch-up schedule says they only need to be 30 days apart. I think I will have her receive 1 more dose, then wait for a "booster" for awhile. Maybe around the time of kindergarten or maybe not. Could have titer checked...

Google  the vaccine "catch-up" schedule (I think it's at the cdc or aap website).  I think if the last dose is given at or after age 4, they get one less shot overall.  So, if the series is normally 5 doses, it will only take 4 if you give the last one after age 4.
