Fissure trouble

So I had an anal fissure several years ago about a year after my ds was born and I was able to get it to heal by being extra careful with cleaning and using prep h.

Now after changing my diet in a huge way it is back greensad.gif I have been working a few months now to get it gone but it keeps busting back open. The fissure is located in a pretty common area from what I have read online, at the peranium. My dad actually had one in the same spot a few years back that required surgery to fix it greensad.gif I dont want to go there since there is a chance it can cause incontinence though my dad has had zero issues.

I am of course a bit worried but not totally freaking out yet and I dont have a Dr. that I feel comfortable enough with to go to right now about this issue.

Does anyone else who has dealt with this kind of thing have any advice on how to get it healed back up? I am doing everything I can to keep it from ripping open again but it is not easy since with this diet change I now have a LOT more fiber in my diet which cause bulkier stools.

I wouldnt even post about this as it is a bit embarrassing but I need idea's on how to make it better desperately.

I don't have firsthand experience with these oils but I know of someone who has. I know how difficult this situation can be. Best of luck!

B6 is supposed to help. I had hemmoriod surgery and kept tearing it open along with getting some other fissures, and 50mg to 100 mg daily of b6 helped heal it. I read about it online. Also I took magnesium to get my stools softer, I couldn't have any large stools or else I would open the incision up again.

Yes!!!  I have something that works wonders.  I went to a colorectal surgeon because mine was so bad.  He prescribed C-Nifedipine.

It worked wonders!  Mine was healed completely within 10 days.  And it's never come back.  The research on it is pretty impressive:

Oh, wow.  I had one after I had my son and it was not a good time.  I totally feel your pain!  I think this website is helpful for lots of options:  http://www.boardsailor.com/jack/af/  Also, the way you sit to defecate may help - I've read that squatting (if you can manage) with your feet on the toilet seat puts equal pressure all around and helps prevent a re-injury.  Hope that helps and you feel better soon...

You might want to read the thread I just started about intestinal parasites. My anal fissures (I had several small ones) went away after I treated for parasites. I had done a parasite treatment years ago, when I first got the fissures, but apparently it had lost its potency because it was an off-the-shelf kind. When I treated this time around, I had better treatments, and now my fissures are gone. HTH --
