I went to the ER yesterday.. HELP!

I went in yesterday because I've been feeling very dizzy and aside from learning that my blood pressure is extremely low I was also told that instead of being 10w pregnant like I thought, they think I'm 13w (today) based on the ultrasound.  How accurate is this?  From my calculations that seems impossible since my last real period was on 10/27, I had a bfp on 11/25 and miscarried on 11/27.  My loss was very typical- spotting for 2 days, heavy bleeding started, bfn on day 5 and I continued to pass clots until day 8.  According to the US I would have concieved on 11/24!  This can't be right...  The doc seemed very sure of himself and from everything that I've read dating is pretty accurate right now.  Anyone have experience with this?

hm. I know the 6-10wk US's are pretty accurate with dating, i don't know about past that. Do you have a OB/midwife yet? I'd get their opinion. 3 wks is a big time frame to be "off" by, and once you are under care anyway they're going to want to pin that down.

I would trust your knowledge and go with the later date.  Obviously you weren't concieving in the midst of a miscarriage, so you know that isn't right.

If it were me, I'd find a care provider and just tell them when I ovulated.  I don't ever go by last AF because my cycles are all wacky, but I know when I o and that's more accurate anyway.

I have no experience at all, but it does seem weird. Are you sure you miscarried? I mean, I'm sure you're sure, but that just sounds so weird!  I was watching one of those "I didn't know I was Pregnant" shows, and the woman thought she miscarried, but several months later had a baby.  Turns out she was pregnant with twins and lost one early on, but the other survived, somehow undetected.  Maybe that's what happened? I don't know how they would be able to tell that though.

If you're 13 wks you're in my DDC - come on over!

I finally called the ER and although they couldn't give me any specific info without me coming in to sign a release the nurse said that they typically go by fetal age when dating with US, which would make me 15 weeks.  Accoring to that my dates would be right in line with not having a miscarriage (or losing one twin).  I guess I'll pop into the Aug DDC (again) orngbiggrin.gif

I had implantation bleeding that I mistook for a period in one of my pregnancies, and I had an aunt who continued to get what she thought was a period until she was a few months along. I don't know, I would probably go with the later date.

if you lost a twin, your hcg levels might bounce down and then back up again, especially being such an early loss, I would guess that your HCG might have been on the cusp of not turning the HPT positive which might be why you got a negative on day 5. Or the second test could have been not as sensitive. The bleeding could have also been from a SCH, though that wouldn't really explain the BFP and then BFN. Were the tests the same brand/package?
