Ways to support a friend?

One of my friends, we see each other in church and a couple times a month for a playdate, has long struggled with infertility.  She has battled breast cancer, uterine cancer and pcos.  Two years ago they adopted their first child.  Now they are hoping for a successful FET.  They had their first egg transferred last week and a few days later they were told the rest of the embryos had died guilty.gif.  They will have to wait until next wed. to see if the embryo implanted.  It was so hard to hear her getting condolences at church on Sunday about "God's plan" and such.  We're not close enough where I can just give her a big hug, but what can I do or say?  Her parents have been here to help with their LO, I thought maybe fetching him one day once they go home to give her some time might help.

Maybe send her a note - a card or an email - just to let her know you're thinking of her and want to help. Or if you know what she likes to eat, maybe fix her dinner and bring it over?

(Personally, if I'm "not close enough" to someone to hug them, I wouldn't let them babysit my kid.)

Well it's a playdate where the mommies talk and the kids play headscratch.gif  And I'm not the initiate hug type person unless with my kiddies so it feels weird for me!
