OMG, mama. NOM NOM NOM!! yummy.gif I am so going to try that. Maybe in P4, though. Bananas are not P3, IIRC. I love them, but I am going to be very sparing with them. How much coconut oil? I tried to make something cold with it last P3, if I remember, and the oil gets hard so quickly. How did you get it not to clump up, in a smoothie?

Oh, yeah, this is SO good. I haven't done it in P3 with all the extras. In P2, I sliced up tomatoes and "grilled" them in a nonstick pan with salt and Italian seasoning and garlic and a bit of water to keep them from sticking. Then pushed them to the sides and scrambled some egg in the middle (1 egg + 1/4c egg beaters), also with the same spices. Then a couple Tb of salsa on the eggs, folded in kind of, like an omelet. Some of the tomatoes ended up in the eggs, but it's all good. So yummy! Might try your recipe in P3, FR.

Today is Round 2, P3, Day 1. I am having a big mixed salad with feta and olive oil and vinegar. YUM!! And green peppers. I so missed those. And sprouts. And anything mixed lol.gif

I am actually down a pound from LDW, but I'm fine with that. I have technically another 1.2lbs I can go, lower, to be in range.

This is one of my favorites!  Just ate it in fact... 3 scrambled eggs topped with sliced avocado, salsa, and sour cream.  It's so filling.  No cheese for me as I will be eating yogurt and cheese later today.  Trying not to do more then 2-3 servings of dairy in a day.

I've done bananas all three times now, again, no issue.  The browner they get the less starch there is in them (sugar/fructose increases but starch decreases) so I just use really ripe bananas.  I don't eat them every day, but a couple a week hasn't killed P3 for me yet.

The coconut oil works best in smoothies if you melt it first.  Which is a pain in the neck, but if you don't it doesn't mix up well.  Clumps of hard coconut oil are not very tasty!

I do have the scrambled egg feast in the morning which is delicious.  Sour cream and salsa make everything better but avocado and I have a hate hate relationship.  I'm a bit stumped as far as quick meals in the evening.  I guess I'm going to have to make time to cook some things in advance.

I've decided to start on the drops again this morning and treat the past 5 days as an interruption.  I haven't gained anything (in fact I've lost some) but I feel so much better doing clean eating and I think I need to prepare more for P3 or else I'm going to ruin the past month's work in P2.  Have fun, ya'll!

Has anyone done fresh juices while on P3?  I haven't juiced in so long and am suddenly having a craving for a green lemonade.  I'm assuming that as long as all of the fruits and veggies I use are on protocol it would be OK.  My green lemonade recipe is an apple, a lemon, celery, cucumber, and parsley.  Thoughts?

I'm not sure.  haven't done it but given that it's mainly veggies it's worth a try.

you MELT your CO before making the smoothie?  You are a kitchen goddess.  I just dump it in the vitamix and blend vigorously before adding frozen stuff.  Having to wash an extra pan would mean no smoothie for me.  Is my laziness showing?  whistling.gif

Ha!  Yes, if it's not already liquid do to seasonal warmth, I do melt it.  Mostly because I have issues with chunky solid bits of coconut oil... blech.  Even my Vitamix can't get them blended well enough sometimes.  Plus, for some reason I have a pretty strong gag reflex to coconut oil, especially when it's not liquid.  I don't necessarily heat it in a pan though, sometimes in a cup within a bowl of hot water from the tap can do the trick just fine.  So there ya go!

you're still fancy.

have you tried blending it with liquid before adding frozen stuff?  did we have this discussion?

Yes, we have had that discussion!  If the coconut oil is semi-solid blending it with the liquid first befor adding the frozen stuff works OK.  But when it is SOLID, like right now, not so much.  Or at least not enough for my fancy self.winky.gif

Hi LianneM-

I think I'll join you for a week.  I've decided to experiment doing a one week cycle of P3 (or interruption) and then hop back into P2 a week from tomorrow: 4/3.  I'm on my 3rd round, P2 Day 23 here.  I'm going to keep the P3 foods pretty simple since it's only for 7 days.  But, Yum!  P3!  Well, starting tomorrow officially because I'm doing one more VLCD without drops today.

I think I'm going to try to remember to do CO every day this week.  Nourish this body. orngbiggrin.gif

Awesome!  Enjoy!

So far I've had two days of P3 and 2 days of pizza.  I don't think I've ever loved pizza so much.

You will have to elaborate on how you're doing this. I might be doing this over Easter weekend and I'd love some pointers and someone to hold my hand smile.gif April 3rd is the first day of Treasure Map time...are you doing one?

How are you doing pizza on P3? How do you make a starch-free crust? Gawd, I love pizza. But not often. I have it on Loading days and that's pretty much it for me.

Back on VLCDs. I'm on Day 3. I gained some NINE pounds in Loading and pre-Loading days. I've taken off 6 of them in the past 2 days. My MyPlate graph looks wildly swinging up and down and decidedly unhealthy as for pendulum eating...sigh...I am still so sick with food issues. I really would love to stabilize one of these days, at a reasonable weight. I guess, like alcohol for me, it's really all about vigilance. But it's so much harder with food!

Check out my blog for two recipes, and two more coming next week.  I'm on a mission to find the best starch-free pizza crust.  They involve a lot of cheese, and other stuff too.  YUM!

I've done the Tropical Traditions pizza crust while on P3 and it is so good!  It's basically cheese, eggs, coconut flour, and a bit of ground flax.  I like to top it with pesto and sliced tomatoes... yummy.gif

Yum...that TT pizza crust sounds yummy. :)

Maia-I hope to do a TM.  I need to brainstorm about size since I'll be moving.  For this "interruption" or "cycling" I don't really know what to call it, I'm just doing it for one week.  I was thinking of doing one last long round, but my intuition was telling me it would have to be too long to get off all the weight.  I'm also feeling a little impatient, so I'm experimenting.  I stopped taking my drops on Friday, kept VLCD through yesterday while trying to antidote my hHCG (I did this my drinking coffee and huffing eucalyptus oil yesterday), today I started eating P3 and will continue for 7 days.  Then I will go right back into P2 without loading next Sunday.  I'm doing P3 really simply.  I don't want to try to add in too many things because I don't want to gain any weight fingersx.gif or make it difficult to transition back to P2.  I'm going to eat lots of healthy fats and protein.  If I do cheese, I'll only add a little the last 3 days.  For the most part, I'll keep the vegies and fruit the same as P2.  This is what I normally do the first week of P3, and I've had good success with stabilizing my first 2 rounds.  I'm kind of just making it up as what feels right for me.  I'll let you know how it goes, and I'll be happy to hold your hand. love.gif

Maybe that's where my problems have been. I tend to snarf cheese and all sorts of what-not on P3, nearly immediately. And lots of it. So basically your P3 is just a higher calorie P2? Plus...what, more fat, I guess? Got sample menu for a day? Or three? lol.gif

I want to do it right next time. I'm tired of gaining back half or more of my P2 losses. I really have to remember to BE PATIENT. I still have to figure out just exactly how to ask my mom to KEEP IT SIMPLE when we go visit her on Easter weekend. I think I might try to do what you're doing.
