You Name It...It's Happening, and I'm not enjoying it anymore

I need help.  My twins are 13.5 months, and for the past 3 weeks, their latch has changed.  It happened almost over night.  But now, I'm dealing with one bleeding nipple, with what looks to be a very small "hole", very painful latching and nursing.  And, I'm sooooooo not enjoying breastfeeding anymore.

I nursed DD1 for 32 months, and had really hoped to do the same with the twins.

I have just returned to work, so I get a reprieve from nursing for 10 hours (although I am very full by the time I come home). 

But the pain...oh, the pain!  I rub my nipples with a TON of lanolin.  Any other ideas on how to deal with this?

It sounds like they maybe have gotten or are getting a new tooth/teeth and that is why their latch has changed. It should pass soon. In the meantime can you get a prescription for triple-nipple cream? You can google it if you haven't heard of it. It should definitely help and is safe for your LOs. HTH!

I agree about the teeth. I googled triple nipple cream....I thought you were making it up!!!

Lol. Some things you just can't make up! I used triple-nipple and it worked wonders. I think it's an anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibiotic. Whatever it is, it was a godsend for me and ds! I hope things have eased-up for you.
