On January 12, dd came down with what I thought was a cold, but I'm pretty sure ended up being a flu, based on duration and severity of symptoms.  I came down with the same thing on January 15/16th, right around the time that we concieved (I'm 6ish weeks pg).  I was sick until the 24/25th and then had a lingering cough.  Dd started to get better around that same time.  On the 26th we flew out to my parents place who live on the west coast.  They have very similar weather to the pacific northwest, damp and cool but not cold.  I thought that this would be great for my cough and within a day we both felt better, my cough was gone and we felt pretty close to 100%.  We stayed there for 10 days.  We returned home to a dry cold climate and within a day my cough was back and today, 2 days after dd and I both seem to have similar symptoms to the beginning of our last cold/flu, congestion, fatigue, fever, aches and pains etc.

Is it not strange that this happened?  2 back to back colds, where you felt perfectly fine inbetween?  Especially for 10 days? I should mention that I started to fell better 4 days after I got sick but it wasn't as fast or great as I felt while at my parents house and quickly go worse a lot faster.

One thought, less sinister option is the plane.  The recirculated air just keeps all the bugs in.

Another less sinister thought is that we never really got better, the dampness just made us feel better

My more sinister thought is mold.  We live in a rental house and no home inspection was performed before moving in.  Its an older home that I know has had mold issues in the past.  The carpet in the basement is recycled from many other locations and one of the rooms has a very thick underlay and has smelled the whole time we lived here.  We keep the door closed.  We have lived in this house since the end of August so I don't know if symptoms of mold would be coming up now.  The house has had mold issues in the past we know, but since the dehumidifier was installed we were told they were resolved.  I'm thinking of getting dh to rip up the carpet in the squishy room (as we call it) as we got permission to do that last month but were too busy to do it, and seeing if there is any mold.

Any thoughts?  Does this sound like symptoms of mold to you or am I just being paranoid!

Sorry for the novel!
