Toddler supply

Anyone have supply issues after switching to a vegan diet? I feel as though my supply should be up, as I now take more nutrient rich foods in. Instead I have to supplement with fenugreek to keep my two year old in enough mamma milk for her demands. Any support will be appreciated!

I was on an almost vegan diet (sort of, I was off of dairy/soy/eggs/tomatoes due to allergies) but I was also eating a ton of nutritional yeast which is supposed to help with supply. I ate a lot of beans and rice and tried to focus on protein which I think helped.

I am eating oatmeal for breakfast, lots of beans, and yes nutritional yeast..I am at a loss, maybe the stress of changing diets? exercise?

Is it possible you are pregnant? My supply took a nosedive in early pregnancy.

I notice that I have to eat A LOT of vegan food to support breastfeeding. I eat four full meals a day and snacks in between those meals (and still keep losing weight). Did you increase your intake when you switched? Are you getting enough healthy fats? Avocado, nuts, and flax seed oil are good healthy boosts in fat.

Not pregnant, and yes I eat plenty of nuts and seeds, maybe too much. I am starting to gain back a few pounds greensad.gif maybe its just the stress of trying to loose weight. She is probably getting plenty of milk, she just seems to want to nurse all the time. My theory is that if there were a large supply, she would fillup and nurse less. Also, being a toddler,on busy days we might not nurse enough, and plus I work one eight hour shift a week and don't pump anymore.
