Why did my EBF 4-month old's poo become so solid?

My 4 month old is breastfed and she doesn't poo very often. Today she just went, and I think it had been 10 days! But it's been like this since birth, and she's otherwise healthy, so I'm not too worried about that. About a month ago I cut out milk because it seemed to be giving her painful, smelly gas and poo. After I cut back on the dairy, her gas went away and her poo stopped being horribly stinky and is consistently the appropriate yellowish brown color. But, now it is kind of solid - like peanut butter, not the liquid bf baby poo I'm used to. Is this normal? She doesn't seem dehydrated because she has lots of wet diapers. Any thoughts?

My guy did that too. I decided it was a normal phase Sheepish.gif. It got liquidy again before we started solids at 7 months, and is now paste-like again with solids. We EC, so I can see that pooping doesn't hurt him. As long as it isn't hard, or bloody (which it never has been) I don't worry.

My guy was also like that pretty much all the way until starting solids. He also was an every few days (once almost 3 weeks) pooper. I think it is the infrequency of the poop which causes it.

My nearly 5 month old has/had similar bowel movements. Like toothpaste almost.
He now has a combination of the toothpaste and wet poos, and what changed for us was me taking fish oil supplements.

Well, that's what I think anyway.

That said, if she's happy and healthy then I'd try not to worry about it?
