Hey everyone, I have a 2 1/2  month old daughter and am exclusively pumping. I want to get pregnant soon but I'm not sure if I have gotten my first postpartum period. Is EP the same as BF?I KNOW that many of you will advise me against getting pregnant again so soon but I really want this. It took me 6 years to conceive my daughter after having my son in 2004. I used clomid as a little helper I really dont think it would have happened otherwise. Will clomid reduce my milk supply? Is it harmful for my baby? Does bleeding after 56days pp count as a period? So many questions please HELP.

it's like breastfeeding in that there's no way of knowing when your fertility will return. I have no idea if clomid is safe while breastfeeding, but I do know that pregnancy will almost always decrease milk supply (possibly to nothing), so you do have to think about how long you want your DD to be getting mama's milk. in terms of bleeding, after the 6 weeks I had a couple times where I had a day of spotting (not period), when I got my period back in came with my usual cramps, and lasted 5 days. if you aren't sure it's a period, it probably wasn't.

Thanks for you input marrisamom. I am definately going to think about the side effects of getting pregnant while breastfeeding. I do not want to stop breastfeeding so soon.
