I don't know about those strips, but I did use silicone scar gel on my abdominal hysterectomy scar, post-op. I began using it as soon as the staples were out & I came home from the hospital (2 days post-op). It really helped with the itchy healing feeling and was very soothing. I kept using it regularly and my scar is hardly visible (it was noticibly fading within weeks of beginning the gel).
I am a firm believer in silicone scar gel and have used it on dh, ds and my Mom, as well. I have also used vit c serum and vit e oil. But, I haven't found them to have the same excellent results as the silicone.
The sooner you begin using such products, the better the results.
Also, some people heal better than others and I think the condition of skin, to begin with, has a lot to do with scar formation, too.
