We are considering purchasing a Nature Mill Pro XE indoor/outdoor automatic kitchen composter.

We live in a northern climate and composting pretty much stops during our sub-freezing time months. Green scraps do go out for the deer and birds in winter. However, we don’t toss any meat scraps out, at any time of year, as it will attract the neighbor’s cats (as well as feral cats) irked.gif and then we have to deal with that already difficult and annoying issue.  Plus, we're in bear country and, though we love to see these big critters, having them in your yard regularly IS a bit problematic!

This electric composter looks wonderful in that it can compost ALL kitchen waste, including any dairy and meat and, in a MUCH shorter time span (and, with very little electricity). We have a drum composter, but it doesn’t do anything during the winter and we certainly don’t put any dairy or meat waste into it.  As it is, the drum sure takes a long time for stuff to break-down, even in the warmer months. We could put the composted material directly in our garden, even in winter, in less than two weeks.

We already recycle all our household paper & cardboard, glass, aluminum and certain plastics (our recycler doesn't accept all plastics, just #1 & #2).  This, in itself, cuts down on a lot of garbage.

The reviews on this item are glowing. We have a large gift card for Home Depot and thought this would be a great use for it. So, does here anyone have one??
