DS doesn't get a lot of refined sugars, but this afternoon we went out for ice cream after his nap (mostly for meÂ
). Wow. He was hardly recognizable a few hours later! He's usually energetic, but this was a bad energy.Â

I realize sweets aren't good for children, but are they ever able to handle the occasional sweet? Are some kids more sensitive to this sort of thing than others (I imagine so...)?

For now if I need ice cream, I'll get him a smoothie (with fresh fruit, no syrup!) but I have a sweet tooth & I don't know if I'll be able to refrain all the time... Though it'd be good for me too!
