Cost of midwife in the Denver, CO area?

DH and I are not pregnant. But want to try soon if things work out. We had a hospital birth and 2 HBs in Ohio. The rates (as the whole cost of living too) is very affordable. I think we paid $1,000 the first time and then $1,500 the 2nd time. Everything was included, but no prenatal tests. We didn't want any anyhow, but did get U/S both times. How much can I expect to pay in Denver?

Our DD was born in the Fall of 2009. If paid prior to a certain point, it was either $2400 or $2700 (for some reason I can't remember). We loved our Midwife, Julie Hughes and her intern (now Midwife) Jen.

Julie Hughes is great :)

My MW charges $2900, I'm about an hour north of Denver.

My midwife is out of Fort Collins and we paid $3000 for our last birth with her 2 years ago. I also had to buy our birth kit and pay for the newborn screening.

My midwife charges $3000-$3300 which doesn't include labs or ultrasound.  Its expensive over here isn't it (I mean living expenses)?  I bet its a bit of a shock coming from Ohio.

Thanks for replies. Yeah it was a bit of a shock. The funny thing is though that DH was able to get a job that he had lots of experience in and makes about double what he did in Ohio. So we are in the same place finacially out here that we were out there. Rent is doubled too, so we are literally left with about the same money after each paycheck. Some months are really tight, while others he gets bonuses and we are more comfortable. He has a year left of his degree and is hoping to get into his feild. He is working on a BA in Medical Administration. He just wants his foot in the door and work his way up. Our grocery bill and other things are right about the same. Gas has been more expensive in Ohio for months now, but we have finally caught up to the nearly $3 mark.
