Nausea: Does it get worse before it gets better?

I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my second. Last week, when I hit 10 weeks, the nausea dropped significantly. I was so happy to be able to get out of bed.

It only lasted 4 days. By Tuesday I was feeling terrible again. It still hasn't changed.

I thought the nausea was supposed to disappear soon. Any one have any idea why it seems like it's getting worse for me?

I would love to hear some of your personal experiences.

With first DC, I was nauseous from week 5 to week 15, had a 2 week break, then was nauseous from week 15 to week 20.

I'm also pregnant with number 2, and was sick from week 6 to week 11. After week 11 I still had a few random days here and there that I felt a little queasy, but it pretty much went away. Even at 28 weeks, I have to be careful about eating too many carb-y foods, and too much in general or I will throw up, but I'm not nauseous anymore.

The point is, every pregnancy is different. Majority of the time, nausea tapers off at around 11-12 weeks, but it's different for everyone obviously!

Sorry you're not feeling better!  I'm 25 weeks along and I was constantly nauseated with sporadic vomiting until 19 weeks.  BUT...I still get nauseous if I don't eat protein at each meal.  Sweets and carbs at breakfast particularly make me feel quite ill until lunchtime, plus they give me heartburn.  Try eating eggs or yogurt for breakfast if you can stand it, or drink a little whole milk now and then.  Ever since I started trying to follow the Brewer diet, which has milk and eggs and whole-grain as it's base, I've felt MUCH better in general.

Good luck!

thanks for the advice! The nausea has gone down significantly in teh past few days. Maybe it's because I started eating TONS of protein every day. Or it could be because Im getting close to 12 weeks.

Whatever it is, I am so glad it's going away!
