Prepping for the 2011 Treasure Map - Page 6

I've got:

olive

chestnut bud

aspen

willow

honeysuckle

wild oat

eta: I guess wild oat would be an obvious winner, just reading the front of the bottle (haven't looked at them in quite a while).

Morning:)

I took the last few weeks of Feb. off of the computer, it was a nice little break:)  This year will be my second TM, I can't wait to get started! Subbing and going to read and catch up here:)

Have a great day.

This is my first year, it's actually the first time I've ever heard of the process.  Thanks for all the information, ladies.

lol, yes! maybe olive, too, if you're feeling totally drained by it all? i'm not very familiar with the others.... willow maybe if you're feeling resentful about how long you've been there and not moving forward? although, if you're feeling at all anxious about not getting out and somewhere else, but maybe not sure why, aspen would fit..... did you used to live somewhere else that you liked more, and you long for that? then honeysuckle might help.... but, yeah, wild oat's a great fit!

To begin the process... saying goodbye to nearly 50 small jars of dried herbs... sad to see them go, but out with the old and in with the fresh~~~ they're going to friends in need and to the compost pile. I'm holding onto my favorites though

I have been to the dentist to have my amalgams removed, started a series of colonics, transitioning into a raw plant diet, had a major service done on my car, the list goes on!!! I'm feeling mighty fine ........so good to be in all your good company.

This will be my 5th TM I think. I love the process. I am so motivated to declutter this year. My main area of declutter is also in the financial realm. I have had this on my map for years and carry such issues in this area! I want to get over it already. I am going to begin writing affirmations TODAY to try and clear some of my fear and shame that revolves around money.

Off to look at the old threads to read more about it. I have never heard of a TM before.

The more the merrier!  Last year was just my first year, so I'm no pro, and even though I'm a bit frustrated/disappointed about some stuff, overall I still really like the process.

I was wondering if I was exhausted enough for olive.  Not as exhausted as a couple years ago, but that's not saying much, yk?  I'll think about adding it in.  I may encourage DH and DD to use the honeysuckle again, they both feel that way (even DD, she's only 7!  we moved away from Austin when she was just 4, and she still, at times, wants to move back), and maybe willow for DH.  These fit them a lot better than me... cause I always buy with them in mind.  I think I should spend some time reading some descriptions and buy one or two that fit me as well.

But yes, wild oat and maybe olive for me.  Thanks for the help!

Still working on the decluttering (physically!) from my house and I have also started a mini detox process for myself of taking epsom salt baths on the weekend.

I think I am in love with those things and I always feel so much more balanced after those and ready for the week ahead.

I know my 2010 TM is still in full effect as I'm feeling it, but trying to temper it with balance to prepare for the next cycle ahead.

Inspiring energy.gif, I've been reading up on MDC about detoxing, and I think that is where I will start to detox - epsom salt bath..

Thanks for the welcome, Tanya. I have been spending some time reading up about treasure mapping, and trying to figure out how to declutter. I deactivated my FB account (something that I have wanted to do for a little while now), and I am trying to spend less time online obsessing about TTC. Physically decluttering is more of a challenge for me. I find that I am in love with stuff. My mom is dieing (slowly, of Alzheimer's) and I spent last summer clearing out her house, since she lives near me in assisted living now. I ended up with some of her stuff and some of my old stuff, which is just way too much stuff for our tiny house. I need to get rid of it, but I still have an emotional attachment to stuff. It has become more of an attachment for me since she is now dieing (not that having a bunch of stuff laying around the house is something that makes that makes that fact any better).

Anyway, I suppose getting rid of FB, and not obsessing over TTC is a good start for me.

rcr, hugs, momma. that's beyond rough. it might be worth packing some of that stuff away and "mentally" decluttering, without the huge emotional turmoil of actually decluttering. focus on the now, kwim? (also dont throw something at me, but flower essences are screaming in my head both for you and for her..... maybe developing an obsession with them in place of fb/ttc will help you find a calm center in prep for TM.... says the flower-obsessed lady.....)

ditto on the epsom salt baths. dh has a rule that we all have to have one at least on sunday. he's so cute about it!

What aweyn said. Or maybe you can get someone else (objective person) to help you declutter. When I was moving out of my old house, my exDH was a HUGE pack rat. My friend came in and just grabbed things, "Do you need this?" and if I gave any hesitation at all, into the out box it went. She was relentless. I was sad and felt tugs toward all that stuff, but honestly? It was like 7 years ago and I don't remember any of it. Except the 23-odd banana boxes of books. Talk about clutter.

aweyn did you see about my hand on the other thread or fb? greensad.gif Ow tried to tap last night but my hand really hurts and is way more swollen today. Not going to attempt chakra clearing yet if it involves hands. I'm in a lot of pain.

DH just got a new job that is going to double his salary. It's going to just barely take us out of poverty and off public assistance. Today he got an email from his "dream" job. He has an interview with these people 2 days before he starts the new job. Could it be? Either way we will be relocating, and I've been cleaning out, throwing away, donating crap. I developed film I had for over a year. We're downsizing and cleaning and concentrating on our relationships at home. I had no idea it was almost time for the next map. :)

Hi, new to this forum and TMing

OT question for you: Is there a good place to start reading up on flower essences?

I was just going to reply and ask the same question as Speedmum, I don't know anything about flower essences. Are there a few books that you would recommend? I just had a failed IVF cycle, and I am really looking for a way to move on.

I love the idea of packing stuff up. What a great first step. Thanks! After some time of being away and never used, maybe I will have some perspective.

Did my first real Tm last year and saw some positive results. Not the sweeping changes I had hoped for but little nudges in the right directions.

Starting to declutter now.

When's the map making day again?

Coming out of the woodwork to join you!  I've started cleansing my space in preparation!

wow, i like the idea of getting off facebook. i'm not sure i'm ready to deactivate. but i think i will try to stop checking it every day. it's weird how you get used to reading daily status updates from people who are not really your day to day friends, but rather people you just went to high school or college with, or used to work with. very weird.

as for me, i finally went through all of our craft stuff and organized it all into user friendly containers. i've been saving pretty little boxes and the bags you buy sheets in, etc. for awhile now. and it was awesome to get to use those things for grouping together beads, ribbons, and the like. i have a 4 year old daughter who loves to do crafts, and now i'm "ready to go" with her materials. i'm fortunate to have a nice amount of space for these things, basically two kitchen cabinets full. it took me a good 2-3 hours to do it, and it was accomplished while the baby slept b/c i got him to bed early one night. it is now a pleasure to look at the craft area. something that i've been wanting to do for a long time.

thank you to whomever it was who suggested that it is more important to do a good job on the areas that you declutter, rather than trying to do a cursory job on "all" areas. someone stated that they work together as a family decluttering small areas at a time and over the course of a year, there is now a house that is mostly nice and neat, with only pockets of clutter, versus the opposite. thank you for that, it helps to keep it reasonable.

i have read up on feng shui, and in fact i have a couple of books on my little bookshelf that outline the quadrants (baguas --sp?) let me make sure i'm getting this straight -- the TM that we produce should follow the baguas in terms of what your heart desires for, say, relationships, or financial, or the other categories, and either draw/paint, or paste a picture of that in that area on your treasure map... right?

my plan for April 3 is to go to Hobby Lobby and get my materials that day, which, as of now, i'm figuring on a thick poster board or foam board and some nice, high quality paints and brushes. i'm not an "artist" per se, but as a child i was really into art, and it's just something that i have left behind sort of as the years went on and i got more practical about earning a living, etc. i have some talent there, and i somehow like the idea better of depicting my heart's desire through my own imagination, than using a choreographed scene from a magazine photo shoot or advertisement. not that some of those aren't great. somehow i just like the idea of painting better, for whatever reason.

in addition to cleaning, i am focusing now on beautifying our living space. again, it's something that gets put on the back burner as "not really important," yet it gives me so much pleasure to see pictures hung, seasonal decorations up, items placed carefully.

we are wrapping up the winter season of activities, which were a considerable amount, for our 4 year old. they mostly end by the end of march. a few continue on till may, but only a few. we are not re-upping for a lot of things, thereby leaving open some large chunks of time each day. i truly look forward to filling in this time with trips to the parks, visits with old friends who are out of town, train rides to the city to do whatever, a few shopping trips, just unscheduled time to do whatever... especially in the spring as the days get longer and the weather gets warmer.

i'm so excited to create my first treasure map!!

You don't have to follow ANY pattern or model for your TM. Some people use the baguas as a way to make sure they are including all areas of their life.
