had a shower inspiration this morning.... aubergine will laugh if she reads this.... another "12 category" idea for map layout.... the "12 healers" of the bach flower essences..... not sure i would do it, but it sounded fun in the shower while i was tapping, lol........

yay for bursts of cleaning. i finally *forced* myself to do some re-hemming of curtains that badly needed it. i was irked the whole time, lol, but once it was done i was dang proud of myself. ;-)

You were right, aweyn....lol.gif  Seriously - from my limited knowledge, I really see how that could work well!

I have to clean out my email inbox and make more progress on taxes, if not finish them, this weekend.

We've been working on our house since last weekend. It is looking mighty nice right now! We're about to turn our downstairs into a pampering day spa for DD's birthday party tomorrow.

I have two personal areas left to straighten up:

1. my vanity in our master bedroom -- been having fun making custom-blended oils and getting other things ready for the party; and

2. my desk in our family office -- been avoiding this for a long time, but need it clear to make the signs and other creative things for the party

Then, we'll clean up after the party over the next few days and be ready for treasure mapping time!!! love.gif

I also got a burst of energy. Which is really odd as my iron is super low and I forgot to take my Floradix yesterday. I managed to get a bunch of school work of mine caught up (still have a bit more but stuff that I don't feel I need to have completed prior to the New Moon) and also some housework. I'm working on having my home done for the 1st so I can focus soley on me on the 2nd. I'm wondering if this burst of energy is connected as there is a few of us experiencing it?

Another question, do you think that there is a connection to death and phase of the lunar cycle we're in right now? I really don't know too much about astrology but I do find it interesting. My husband lost a friend last night and my great grandmother is not expected to hold on much longer. For the record I have peace about my Grandma. I know I will be upset when she does actually pass away but I am alright with it, if that makes sense and hopefully doesn't sound callous. I'll have to plan some flowers as she is known as the Flower Lady.

I'm combining my normal willingness to get the house ready for treasure mapping, with very intense nesting urge (I'm in the 38th week of pregnancy now) What a strong combination, I can't believe it but I've gone through  nearly every cupboard in the entire house. ! I'd give anything to be able to declutter all day long (preferably with 10 assistants that I could boss around, lol)

"So, my dh will be out of town for the next 10 weeks, which includes treasure map time. Any thrifty suggestions of ways for him to make a portable treasure map?"

have him cut out pictures from magazines. jot down some affirmations. put them in a envelope and then when he gets home paste them on his board.

Or have him make one on his computer with images that he dowloads and then later when he gets home he can print it up.

Yes, Mercury will be retrograde with the Aries New Moon. But I'm not bugged by it. I actually think we might need it.  The energy is going to be so fast and furious it might be necessary to have our brain not completely "ON".

Also, we'll have a burst of last minute energy Mars goes into Aries on Friday April 1st.  It does not go in quietly . lol.

We sent Eric with a small scrapbook, some construction paper, scissors, glue sticks and some family photos. He's been instructed to use one of his per diem allowances to go and buy 5 magazines. I'm using a small scrapbook this time as well because we are moving. Last time we moved, I really hated moving my treasure map. Disassembling it was so depressing.

I got a bunch of free new-agey mags. from the HFS this weekend - they are going on my shelf, unopened, for next Sunday (only one more week - squee!!!)

Last year, I organized my TM around a chakra theme, and part of my goal with this was to become more aware of what chakras are and how they operate spiritually.  I bought materials to make necklaces in appropriate stones for each chakra last spring to help me focus my meditations on each area..  I neglected this project  for most of the year but picked it up a few weeks ago and finally finished my last necklace this weekend (flourite/white quartz/clear quartz, amethyst for the crown chakra).

I have a drawer in my dresser that I forgot was nearly empty. I never use it! So I have been saving magazines and catalogs I get in the mail in there, for TM. Unopened and unlooked at. I don't even know how many there are or what they are lol.gif

I can't believe the time is so close. I must have got a small energy burst then, too, cause I am supposed to be doing other things and I cleaned the top of the microwave and behind it (HOW does food get back there??) and under the toaster oven and the top of the radio. Small changes but looks so nice!

Do y'all think putting foil over the drip pans on the stove looks tacky? I don't have the money for new drip pans but I do have foil.

That sounds beautiful! I'd love to see how your chakra necklaces turned out if you have picutres and care to share. I find myself really drawn to learning more about chakras but sadly have not taken the time to do so. I'm hoping they will be included on my TM but we'll see once the 3rd rolls around.

spring break here and it's still freezing outside. time to clean!!

I felt like I got such a great start decluttering and then the last few weeks....nothing.  I'm feeling tired, cranky, and overwhelmed.  And guilty that I am somehow not decluttering my life enough.  DH and I are both busy right now - him finishing up his last semester of law school and me hitting midterm time with the three university courses I teach.  DD's nursery school announced it might be closing next year.  My 12 year old dog died last week.  It does seem like there is some closure going on with certain aspects of our lives, but I am also one who is greatly affected by physical clutter in my space and unfortunately, house cleaning is bottom on the list these days.  Yesterday when DD spent the afternoon with her grandparents, DH, DS and I took a snuggle nap instead of clearing space.  Any tips to get me motivated?

It can be a fire hazard (it can trap drips and then they heat up being so close to the burner). I know it isn't instant -- but what about replacing one of the worst ones each week when you buy groceries?

I need about 3-4 weeks to get my house in order. But I did clear out the girls' room and my sewing stash. I'm dropping lots of stuff off at the fabric sale on Friday -- they'll sell it on saturday and cut me a check. I'm debating donating the stuff that doesn't sell.

Me, too. I have things that need done, and here I sit frittering away time on this idiot box. I'm sorry about your dog hug2.gif

My house was for sale from June till today. It had not a single showing. I had two different realtors. The first one wasn't motivated, and the 2nd one badgered me to lower the price, as it's way overvalued for the market, while promising me she'd stay in touch with me, and I hadn't heard from her for months, till today.

My TM last year had lots of things about moving. Maybe this is the sign I need that it's this coming map that will manifest that? I dunno. Sigh. I need money from the sale in order to move. If I list it for what it's valued at in the current market, I'd lose like $20k off of what I paid for it. I'd still come out ahead, but not a whole lot.

What to do? greensad.gif

I covered the drip pan exactly and smoothed it out so it's just like the drip pan. There's no way it can be any more of a hazard than the pan itself, being aluminum! Thanks for the warning, though. Oh, and the pans, they come in a package, not by the each. The individual ones are really expensive!

Here  is a photo album with the necklaces, thanks for asking to see them. Clearly, I am a newbie at making necklaces and jewelry photography is apparently not something one figures out in a hurry - sorry for the blurryish pics, but you get the idea.  I only use that photostream for sharing pics here on MDC - it was fun seeing the pictures of my old TMs!

I think you asked about what to do with old tms, Singin'?  I haven't been able to bring myself to get rid of them - I feel really good about them as creative objects in themselves  (I would love to be more creative but have always felt limited by lack of time and talent. TM time is one of the few times I actually sit down and create something!)  I have a giant file folder box that teachers use for posters, like this - one folder for each of my kids to use for outsized artwork, one for mine (TMs mostly).

I am absolutely pmsing today and don't feel like doing anything on my list.  Tea and chocolate, that's what I need!

Maia, I hope that your house sells *soon*.

Retrograde o the new moon huh? Retrogrades are always hard for me, so that should be interesting.

Tracy, my husband's birthday is on the 3rd too. Anything he should be aware of? First time we've done this where it started on his birthday.

So I just had my tea and chocolate while reading Tracy's Aries New Moon article.  Tracy, you have been decluttering your to-do list before TM time, haven't you!  Bravo and thank you!  Now I feel motivated to get off my butt and start cleaning again.

I actually cleaned my desk in the family office! This is HUGE!!!! That is honestly the only area of the house that has been a mess for-ever...even when I would clean it off for a project, I'd leave it a mess after I did the project. This time, however, I cleaned it off for a project and then proceeded to let my DH do the project his way (computer graphics) instead and I've left it alone.

My vanity has a few things on it from the party yesterday. I had it cleaned off completely and then made peppermint epsom salts and "spa spritzer" for each of the girls. There are a few items to be put away on it. I've been taking a couple things to their correct places all day today.

My dad borrowed one of DD's twin beds today (duo high riser; he took the top frame and mattress), so I helped him move that to his house and he fed me lunch. Nice. :)

My advice for those who are unmotivated (I can relate!) is to do just one little thing every hour. Set a timer. Treat it like a game. Make it fun. Get the kids involved. Whatever it takes. ;)
