Spotting at 27 weeks?

I plan to call my midwife... when I land that is!  I'm current in the air between CA and WA... we'll be landing in about 2.5 hours.  I used the restroom and noticed I'm spotting.  Red, but NOT heavy or like a period or anything like that... just some red on my pantiliner.

I don't feel that I'm contracting anymore than usual (Braxton Hicks) and she's moving.

I know there's nothing else I can do since I'm on a plane right now.  Just looking for maybe a little reassurance???  If I can't get a hold of my midwife, should I go to L&D to get checked (I'm flying OUT of town, so I can't go to the Birth Center where I'm delivering)?

Maybe it is the change in altitude or something that caused the spotting?  Even if it stays nice & light, I would just go in and get checked for peace of mind- if you can't get a hold of your MW.  Traveling can be so stressful and maybe it is nothing serious at all other than stress.  Did you just have sex recently or possibly have a hemerroid?  Hugs mama!

I used the restroom just before boarding the plane.  I don't get stressed out from traveling--we made this same trip a month ago LOL.  It was definitely vaginal bleeding, not rectal... but I do have a friable cervix.  Just haven't had any bleeding since the first trimester so I thought it was done and gone!  Thanks!  I'll be calling my midwife when we land, just in case.

How did it go? Bright red bleeding can be a lot of different things though... depending on your activity and tendency to bleed- but you can have spotting if your placenta starts to pull away too. So I would say def call and at least make a point to see a doc in WA if that is where you are. I take it you are in Seattle then? lots of fab midwives there, if anything call the local hospital labor and delivery and tell them your issue.

Thanks, ladies!  I called my midwife after we landed, and it hadn't continued... went from red to brown, so I really think it was from my (stupid) cervix. LOL  She said that if it continued or repeated that she'd like me to be checked, but if it was just that one time to just take it easy and not worry. :)  I wasn't too worried to begin with, I was just thinking.. SERIOUSLY?  Right as we're getting on a plane?  Ugh, I hope this is not a problem.  But I think everything is fine.

I'm actually down in Tacoma... thankfully my sister delivered here with a midwife less than a year ago, so if I needed to see someone, she'd be a great recommendation for me.  And I know she even told me recently that her midwives started accepting my insurance. ;)  Good to know I have a plan in case it's needed! :)

Oh and I forgot to mention.. I haven't had sex since August 27, so it's definitely not that. ;)  (My husband left for Bahrain August 28.)
