iron/ vitamin supplements for baby and purple under eyes question

My 11 month old baby has purple under his eyes for the last wk or 2.

I am trying to figure out what it means.

Some possibilities I am considering:

His pediatrician prescribed a vitamin with iron which I never got. I am wondering if he needs this, specifically the iron
? I think he does not get enough iron in his diet.

or- we have been giving him a fair am't of baby tylenol and baby ibuprofen to deal with teething pain. Perhaps it is affecting his kidneys/liver and this is what is causing the purple.

So I
 have a 2 fold question:

Should I get iron supplements/ vitamins and do purple bags under eyes indicate lack of iron?

Or does anyone else have ideas? they are not really bags, just purple color under the eyes- no other symptoms. thanks

Not an expert here but I wouldn't just give iron on a guess since to much iron can also be a bad thing. I know getting blood work sucks for LOs but If it's really a concern perhaps you can check serum ferritin(iron stores) and blood iron(can't remember that name)?  Does it look like your lo has black eyes kind of underneath is that what you mean? I believe that can be a sign of allergies and liver. I to would be concerned about giving to many meds for the fact it is very hard on the liver not to mentioned other things.

Have you tried any alternatives for teething?  There's also some info on under eye circles in allergies :)
