First time with yeast infection from antibiotics - need help

I got 2 infections after my c-section, cellulitis was one of them, and was on 2 rounds of antibiotics. During the first antibiotic, my DD got thrush and a yeast infection rash on her face, so pediatrician put her on 14 days of diflucan. She seemed cleared up and thrush is gone. 7 days into her treatment, I believed I was developing a yeast infection because of pain in my breasts and itchiness in my vagina. OB put my on 14 days - 7 pill treatment of diflucan. After 4 doses, I felt awful from the side effects - muscle aches, sick to my stomach, tiredness, sore throat, so I stopped taking the pills. I feel better overall now that I stopped the diflucan, but still feel I have a yeast infection. Is there any other way to treat it, hopefully, naturally? I am taking double doses of probiotics, but that just makes me go to the bathroom more.

I heard on public radio (I think maybe People's Pharmacy?) that (and, warning--this sounds very gross) spooning plain, unsugared/unflavored yogurt INTO THE ACTUAL vagina could cure a yeast infection.  That said, I can tell you I sure have never tried it...I'm a Diflucan loyalist.  Interestingly, I have only ever taken a course of two pills--not the two weeks you mentioned.  Don't have a clue about the dosage, but I thought all Diflucans were the same dosage.  Of course, if you are breastfeeding, I think you are supposed to use the vaginal suppository creams.  I wish you much good luck.  Like everyone, I hate yeast infections and they make me feel so yucky and gross and uncomfortable.  Take good care.

do a search for biotin and yeast supposedly with adequate biotin yeast cannot survive.

Also how about fermented foods(kefir, water kefire, pickles, etc) three-lac(although I'm not sure what the deal is with while breast feeding)  and of course low/no sugar and refined carbs

I've tried the yogurt (homemade so I knew it was full of live probiotics) but I think unless you catch it really early, it may not work,  it didn't work for me on an already-bad yeast infection. I've heard of the garlic remedy, where you thread a string thru a clove of garlic and insert it (not sure for how long or how often).

I honestly have no qualms using the one day medicine from the drugstore, it works fast and is not systemic like the diflucan so there are rarely any side effects. It's just that this is so miserable a condition, time is of the essence in curing it!
