3 rf across, works on paper, will it work in reality?

I'm quickly approaching edd w. twins and have a bitty toddler (18lbs, just shy of 30 in). Ive come up with a car seat solution that works on paper, but I want input if you've got it. There aren't any places local that carry the radian, so I have to buy then try...
I have a sub ob. Back seat measures 52inches flat, 53 if I count the side lip.
Also have a keyfit 30. At widest point, measures 17inches
Radian lists 17 inches at widest
In my looking, it seems like the keyfit is actually a fairly narrow seat, so if I got another, that would be a total of 51 inches of seat in 52 inches of space.
Thoughts? Is there a narrower infant seat or convert?
How would you arrange the seats for ease and safety? I was thinking infant_infant_toddler?

Can I make this work? A newer car is impossible right now and I haven't seen anything near as reliable or safe as the sub for the trade in value (maaaybe 1k. But prolly less. Lots of incidental body damage and ripped interior leather.) I cant stomach the thought of being housebound with 3 under 2 and I dont live anywhere near public transit..

Eta, having never seen a radian, I was assuming I needed to consider the widest point, but it looks like it narrows a ton at the hips... 13 in. anyone know how wide it would be at the intersect point w the keyfit? The kf handle hinge is 17in

You can't really go off the numbers since seats puzzle differently.  For instance, two Radians next to each other take up more room than a Radian and a MyRide, since the My Ride overlaps the Radian at the widest point.  Same goes with the Britax convertibles and the Radian.

What is the toddler in now?

And what year is your Outback?

I would be shocked if two Keyfits and a Radian didn't fit, but the Radian might not install well, depending on the year.  I'd get a Complete Air since they are narrow and much less finicky install-wise compared to the Radian.

The radian is a very hard belt install in the outback.  I'm guessing it won't work for you since you'll need to do seatbelt installs to get 3 across.  I'd probably see if a scenera would fit for your toddler.

With twins and a toddler (I have twin infants and a 2.5 yo) I find I rarely carry both buckets anywhere - I usually stick the toddler and one infant seat in a double stroller and wear the other infant.  I'd seriously consider a newborn-friendly convertible, a keyfit, and a convertible for  the toddler.  Maybe the KeyFit, a Complete Air (for the toddler) and a Coccoro (for the other twin)

That said, we do have two infant seats, and a toddler, all RF, in one row. I have the toddller on the passenger side, with the newborns center and driver side.   If I had one in a convertible, I'd put the infant seat in the center position.   THen you can reach in and take out the infant in the convertible (to wear), then set the infant seat in a stroller or shopping cart, then go around to the other side and get the toddler out.   This is basically what I do, we just leave one infant seat in the car unless it is very very cold.

We have a Complete Air for the toddler and two SnugRides for the babies, but we also have a wider vehicle (Odyssey with a middle row around 62")

Yes, if you decide to forego the infant seat, the Coccoro fits itty-bitties great and takes up very little room.  Two Coccoros and a Complete Air would fit in anything, or if you do like the PP mentioned and get one CCO, one CA and one infant seat, that should work as well.

OMG, thank you for the suggestion and everyone for your help! Had assumed a Complete Air wouldn't work bc when I personally measured one at BRU, it measured too big, but since it was suggested, went tonight and tried out a Complete Air and two keyfits in the backset and they fit! Without an inch to spare, but they're all belted in and tight at good angles, so I'm seriously happy. That saved me quite a bit of cash, plus the potential badness of having to belt the Radian.

YAY.

Oh yay, great news!  I'm glad it worked for you!
