fever with no other symtoms

Last night ds (14 months) spiked a fever of about 101-102.  He had it most of the night, even after being given tylenol.   I finally gave him Ibuprofen about 4 hrs after the Tylenol.  He has no other symtoms.  He woke up this morning and his fever has broken and now he is in a good mood, but I think he is still under the affects of the ibuprofen.

He was up a lot last night, really fussy and clingy.  But, no loss of appetite, no vomiting, no other symptoms..

Any thoughts?

OK-one other symptom that I am not sure is a symptom or me being a paranoid mom.  He was breathing a little funny when he had the fever.  He would pause in every other breath (you know the breathing they do when they are pooping, with the pauses as they push-except he wasnt pooping)

We've had that too. Sometimes a cold develops later. Sometimes it was an ear infection, that would go along with the fussiness.

Breathing funny with a high fever is common here, too. If you are worried, call your doctor. But I'd just have an eye on it.

My dd had a fever of 103 a few days ago and sure enough she had some teeth pushing through. My dd also had Roseola 7 months ago and it is a high fever for a few days followed by a rash on the trunk of the body. No other symptoms. GL mama! Fevers are scary hug.gif:

102 with teeth?  I didnt realize it could get so high with teeth.  I have been wonderinga bout that, I think he is getting his 1 yr molars.

The last couple of days, the fever got over 103, and I try to let the lower fevers go, but that high, I am giving him meds to keep it down.  Still no other symptoms.

I guess I will just keep an eye on it.  Hmmm, Roseola, my neices got that, good to think about, so if I see a rash in a few days, I dont freak out.

This has happened to DD a few times.  Each time, I got a sore throat a few days later, so I think she had minor sicknesses with no obvious symptoms from my perspective.
