Inexpensive bread machine?

Can anyone recommend a good, inexpensive bread machine?

Subbing....

This is the one I have my eye on: http://www.amazon.com/Sunbeam-5891-2-Pound-Programmable-Breadmaker/dp/B00067REBU/ref=sr_1_81?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1296757745&sr=1-81

I read through some Amazon reviews and that was one that looked promising. Although I'm thinking about just getting a second hand one for 5$ and giving that a try before investing more.

I got mine at a thrift shop for $3!! It hadn't ever been used, and is a great quality!

I'd also suggest trying a thrift store or craigslist or something.  So many people use them a handful of times and then get rid of them.

I just wanted to suggest that maybe instead of a bread machine you get this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Healthy-Bread-Five-Minutes-Day/dp/0312545525/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1297805996&sr=8-1

I think the bread is way better than what comes out of a bread machine. Also, the dough is sooo easy to make (no kneading!) and is really versatile. You can make sandwich bread, artisan style loaves, flatbreads, little stuffed pocket breads (that are so easy and fast that I can make it in the morning to pack in my kids' lunches, and I'm NOT a morning person). I keep finding new things to do with the dough, and I just spend 5 minutes mixing it about once a week, then pull off what I need at any given time.

Thank you for all of these great responses!  I will check out craigslist and the thrift stores, and I will also see if I can get my hands on that book!

I have one of these - bought it 4 years ago.  It's been in use several times a week since,

mostly for making dough.  I don't like baking things in there, partly because there are

more options otherwise.  So, I use it to make pizza dough, rolls, french bread doughs.

If you haven't tried this no-knead bread recipe, check this out:

With something this good, no need for any bread machine.  So easy and so tasty.
