Nautilus as HBB

I wondered about this in another thread, but it got buried and I'm hoping for some help from those wiser about car safety than I!

4.5 yo DD is in a harnessed Nautilus. We're going on a road trip next week, and when we are at our destination, we'll probably be riding in other people's cars sometimes and needing to move the seat. Can we use it as a HBB without removing the harness straps? Is there any reason to not just tuck them to the side when it doesn't make sense to wrestle with the installation in an unfamiliar car? Or is there more to transitioning between harnessed and hbb with the Nautilus?

Is your child ready to ride in a HBB?  Has she had any booster training? (practice riding short disances in a booster to make sure she knows how to sit correctly).    Is someone going to be sitting in the back seat with her to remind her not to move around? (sometimes needed with new booster riders, especially 4yr olds).  How does the GN fit her as a booster?

The straps behind her would probably be anoying, which might lead to wiggling around or moving out of place.

I would just try and install it, its a pretty easy seat to install in many cars and just takes an extra couple min. to get it in there.  If she is truly ready to sit in a booster, then I would remove the straps before using it as a booster.   But I would for sure see if I could intstall it first, sense this is a 4yr old, and many kids arent ready for a booster until they are 5-6.
