I recently had this done to induce my labor and my experience was completely different than what these other ladies are talking about. I was admitted to be induce. They used cervidil, I didn't advance past 2 cm. So I did the foley catheter induction. There are two balloon inserted. One behind the cervix and one in front, EACH filled with 60 cc of saline which is a lot of saline. Then I had pitocin started. It was extremely painful with each contraction. It did not fall at 3 cm. They couldn't check me because the catheter was in. And when I couldn't take the pain anymore I was 7cm. It wasn't typical contraction pain. It was shooting pain down my legs from the pressure. Then I was bleeding a lot from it as well. Huge clots were coming out. I would never recommend this being done to anyone.
