hand wringers?

post #1 of 5
Thread Starter

Not sure if anyone here would know about this, but I'm looking for a reasonably priced hand wringer for hand washing cloth diapers. We're not off the grid, just don't have a washer/dryer in our apartment. So far I'm just seeing stuff above the $130 range, which is a bit expensive for us, especially since I'm not positive I'm going to love it.

Right now I was in a 5 gallon bucket in our bathtub, so I'd need something compatible with that.

Is that just what they cost? Does anyone use one and have feedback/advice for what to look for in one?

Thanks!

Got to local hardware store/ home depot/ lowe's and buy a janitorial mop bucket and wringer. They are bright yellow, the kind janitors use for wringing out a mop. Shouldn't be more than $60 or so, I found mine online via craigslist for cheaper than retail.

Mini Countertop Spin Dryer

* Works in only 2-3 minutes
    * 2.2 lb capacity for dry laundry (about 1 pair of jeans per load)
    * 1600 rpm spin speed
    * Portable, only weighs 11 lbs
    * Compact, measures 13.5" x 13.5" x 18"
    * Very quiet
    * Perfect for use with our Wonderwash
    * 110V, uses 82W

Important: please note that this is a spin dryer, not a regular tumble dryer. It extracts much more water from the clothes than a regular washing machine spin cycle, they come out slightly damp.

Completely pointless post: I read the title of this and thought you were asking about people who worry ;)
