Who has tried this method of pain control? I am hoping to have my next birth medication-free, but given my circumstances realize that I may need something. Tell me how it worked for you. I have a friend who said it was great, didn't have pain when babe came out, but our childbirth educator said that for most women it does not numb the vaginal opening, just the uterus. Thoughts? Thanks!!

Experience with ITN (walking epidural)?

I had it but for my third baby...honestly I really liked it...sensation was still there but not pain...some burning at crowning but nothing really bad/intense and actually motivated me to push a little harder
Â
I really liked that it took away the radiating pain to my back and made my abdomen feel less intense but I could still feel the baby's body navigate through my pelvis easily..this topped both my previous birth experiences because I was more present and alert and not totally numb (last was a full epidural) either
Â
I felt really in control of myself which was important to me at the time
