Do you have a fave pattern? Or do you just shorten your longies pattern? I'm looking at a wip pair of longies and, I must say, idk that I'd be thrilled with them if going for a board short look.
I don't know the answer, but I was just thinking about this this morning - I think I am going to try just shortening my longies pattern and putting a garter edging on the bottom to keep it from curling (I generally make a ribbed bottom for pants).
Wooly Wonder Pants produces a pretty wide leg if that is what you mean by board shorts. Alternatively, you could add more stitches when you split for the legs or make the body with a little more ease (more stitches) to get the same result. And yes, all shorts are just pants with a shorter inseam. On little people, about an inch of your base yarn will do it if you're using contrasting trim; basically a 2" inseam.

There's a hem bind off that I've used on longies in the past. It's a little time consuming but worth a try. I'm looking for a good tutorial to post here. Now, if I could only recall the name of that type of bind off. lol
